Hobitit The tv series

I was trying to find information on the up coming movie The Hobbit on imbd and I came across a tv series called "Hobitit",yes Hobitit not Hobbit.

It was created in 1993 and it follows Frodo and Sam on their journey to Mordor while only mentioning events happening in Rohan and Gondor.

It is said to be highly underated and has superb acting but sadly its in Finnish or Swedish...really I have no idea but it was made in Finland so its one of the two.

I couldn't find any English subtitles for it but for those who speak the language or want to check it out anyway heres the link to the first episode.

yes, it sucks if you compare it to the movie, but imho the hobbits actually have small features equal to the ones from the movie

For example Star Wars I was made in 98/99 only 5 years later, the possibilities and qualities of that time weren't that bad...
so forgett about the date as your argument

Don't forget that it wasn't a movie but a low budget Finnish tv series...don't expect much from the qaulity.

Edit: Did anybody take any notice of the acting instead of how ugly it looks? :p

Star Wars was released in 1977 actually. It was re-released in 98.

Anyway, this show looks completely contrary to Tolkiens vision of Middle Earth to the point of hilarity.

I wrote Star Wars I not Star Wars IV
But IV also shows that technically the animations and special effects were already at a much higher level... (i also just mentioned that to show that you cannot argue with the comment it was from 93 since at this point of time it was more or less nearly as good as todays...)

The part when Smeagol (who looks like that crazy dude from Police Academy) kills his friend and takes the ring is actually laughable. The acting, music, camera work is just funny.

Also the part when Smeagol 'runs' into gollum.

I agree with Muff, the hobbits suck (especially sam who looks like a retard from a mental hospital), gandalf and gollum (who behaves like a retard) looks... weird, boromir looks like a japanese samurai..., deagol (i hope it is his name) even dont defend when smeagol was killing him and the wigs which has the children the whole series is really bad

well yeh, i was amazed when i saw boromig, i was WTF, he looked more like a harad guy rather than a noble gondor hero...

and again, maybe for some date doesnt cut it, for me it does, but you simply can not argue with the fact that this is a TV show with a VERY VERY low budget ...
