    Default Calling all TWC overclockers...

I'd like to keep a running list of the Top 5 highest OC's on this site.(Top 10, If there are enough of us)
It'll be broken down in an AMD list, an Intel list and a highest percentage list.
There a few rules though, and here they are:

    1) Only your max stable OC should be posted. No Kamikaze runs or bootup screenshots. Trust shall be the only way this will work, so please be honest.

    2) A screenshot of the OC MUST be shown. It can be anything that shows your current CPU speed. CPU-Z and WCPU are programs that will do this.
-Download CPU-Z Here. Upload the screen shot Here.

    3) Only one system entry per person. You are allowed to remove your current entry in favor of a faster system.

If you have a OC higher than a current top 10, post it here along with the above mentioned screenshot. After reviewing it and your system specs, I will add you into the list whereever you belong.

    Let the Games Begin!!

In the interest of fairness, I will not be submitting my own. ..............maybe.

How will you determine the highest O/C? Will it be based on stock performance: As an example, I can get 2.6 on a 2.0 chip, which is a 30% increase over stock. Or will it be linear in the sense that I can only get 600mhz outta my chip, whereas you can squeeze a full GHZ outta yours?

Either system is pretty unfair, as it's pretty much funds in the second, and technology in the first. Some CPU cores are very easy to overclock a lot, they will always win the % fight. Graphics benchmarks will be dominated by SLI, they allways win on any linear scale. What you need is categories, and I don't think TWC has enough overclockers to keep this alive. I mean there's you, OTZ, and in lesser amount, me, and some others. Why not go to overclockers.net or similar?

King of the hill is a bit lame if the hill you're standing on is the size of a pillow.

Boy, you guys take all the fun out of everything. I was going to do just the highest Ghz one could get to. I wasn't even going to submit my machine as I'm pretty sure it's the fastest here in Mhz and % both. Now THAT would be unfair.
And why go to overclockers.net? There's a million freakin' OC sites out there nowadays. I was trying to put a list together of the fastest HERE at TWC, not at Oc.net. As long as I've been around, there have been a few overclockers that have come and gone because of the lack of interesting activity in the Basement. There's just only so many "which graphics card do I get?" threads that you can answer. I was trying to help make this site a "one stop shop" if you will. The tech heads can come to the Basement. The modders have their space. The government minded have their space. And I think it's safe to say that we're ALL gamers, and so on and so forth.

I think there is plenty of interest for a thread such as this. There have been nearly 50 views of this thread since this morning when I posted it. There are threads that have been open for two or more days here so far that don't have that many views yet. We can keep score for BOTH ways. Ghz and %'s.
Also, we're not asking for benchmarks. Just a CPU-Z screen as proof....preferably an undoctored one. I was going to break it up into separate AMD and Intel sections. A 600Mhz OC on an AMD is pretty awesome. Not so much on an Intel.

Any suggestions on how YOU would like to see it broken down or scored?

    Hooray, our first entry.
Well, IncIV, You have the top Intel spot so far.

Should we break the AMD up into A64 and non-A64? All the AMD's I've noticed round here are mostly A64's.

I will post mine as soon as I figure out how to take and post a screen shot. I'm pretty sure I got the biggest over overclock, % wise, but then it isn't really fair to compare the overclocking results from a top of the line chip to one of the cheapest that they make.

I decided to turn down the overclock to keep the temps below 80 thanks to all of your advice. that and I realized that I can actually get better performance at 300 htt and 200 mhz ram then 313 htt and 156mhz ram.

K, well....I'm adding mine. I can't let my little list die totally. No one is ponying up their scores. So we have a bunch of trash talkers, or you guys are just lazy. When the list gets filled, I'll retire the top spot.

Pent up Rage, How did you get your pentium to do 4.2 Ghz? What specs did you use? tnx

I'm very curious, since I can't get my northwood over 3,5 Ghz. My memory is pc4000, so no problem there.
The temps are ok @ 3,5Ghz. Never over 45 degrees. I've locked my AGP port to 66Mhz. Dunno what else to do...

I have a hand-picked 30-cap SL6WK 3.0c. There are two steppings of Northwood that were test runs for the future P4EE chips that were manufactured in small batches. SL6WK and SL6UH. The pack date for the -6WK is around mid-Feb '04. Not sure about the -6UH though.
To identify the real ones, they have 30 capacitors on the chip as opposed to the standard 12.

Damn.. I did buy mine around that time, but guess I wasn't lucky then. Any tips to get me over that 3,6Ghz border... ?
