I feel like the hoplites are not strong enough as a phalanx, and i was wondering if i could edit them to form a phalanx? I appreciate all the help.

I do not understand your reasoning. The only time I have found my armored hoplites not to be strong enough to win a battle, as they are, is when I fight the Iberians. Even their light infantry are able to knock out 1/4-1/3 of my men before contact. Or did you mean the normal hoplite phalanx is not to your liking and you would like to make the armored hoplites your new phalanx style unit?

My regular hoplites just dont hold the line like i want them too. They aren't very strong, and I want a phalanx unit more powerful.
I'm sorry i just reread the first thing i said and it makes no sense, LOL. Sorry about that, I meant that I don't like the regular hoplite unit, which can form a phalanx. I want the Armoured hoplites to be able to form a phalanx, like an upgrade.

Sure you can, just edit the 'export_description_units' file in your data folder, all you need to know to edit the file is written in the instructions at the top.
You can als give them long spears, if they don't already have them, this greatly improves their capablities as a phalanx unit, not sure if how to do this is in the instructions, if not just compare them with other phalanx units.

armoured hoplites are the best! they can beat heavy, light, cavalry and resistant to arrows whats not to like?
phalanxes just make them slow, flexibility and speed are the best part of the hoplites
nothing looks great than a hoplite sandwich in RS works every time
