    Default "free upkeep"

    Great Mod guys,

    I just wondered which units were entitled to 'free upkeep' and which units are not?

    usual TW rules dont seem to apply.

    Playing Nordland, Archers & Spearmen get free upkeep, other units i.e crossbowmen dont even though i can build them in my settlement.

    Is their anyway to tell which will get free upkeep and which wont before recruiting them?

    Look in the EDU (export_descr_unit.txt). Search for "free_upkeep_unit" (without quotes). If the unit has that, then it has free upkeep

    In my game some of my free upkeep units, don't get free upkeep :s. It seems to happen in lower end settlements if they aren't trained there, so when capturing settlements for example my units do not get free upkeep, even though there are free slots available. Just wondered why this is or if there is a way around. hopefully someone reads this, quite an old thread.

    Edit: Ok I found out that you have to have the building that builds them as well. Silly me.

    Only the most basic units have free upkeep.

    Empire: Archers, Spearmen and Free Companies
    Dwarves: Warriors, Quarrelers and Dwarf axes
    Kislev: Spearmen and Halberdiers
    Chaos: The 3 Types of Marauders
    Dark Elves: Warriors, Spearmen and Crossbows
    High Elves: Spearmen and Archers
