    Hi.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, so if it's not

How can I record my own compositions (blues-rock)? Maybe with a normal video-cam...but the qualitiy is very bad.
So if you have any ideas or rcommendations in songwriting...

I use Cubase and an Audio-Technica mic, but I'm not sure of the model.

FL Studio 8 for major part of composing, mixing and editing and Cubase SX for electric guitar recording.

If your serious about recording then you'll want to invest in a few things:

    1) A sequencer. I use Ableton Live 7, or you could try Cubase which Eire suggested. There's also Logic (MAC), Fruity Loops, Sonar. there's more but any of these will do the trick.

You'll want to try demos of these as they're mostly based on personal preference.

    2) A soundcard/ Audio interface. You'll want to get a soundcard in order to run mics into the sequencer, you can also run guitar straight through the soundcard into the sequencer. You don't really have to get anything dear but obviously the higher priced the better. Have a look around.

    3) A mic(s). Choose a mic depending on what you want to record. Dynamic mics are usually more suited to recording instruments, guitar, drums etc. Condenser mics are more suited to vocals and acoustic guitar. However, you can record either with each mic, bare in mind though that condensers are more fragile.

I suggest the Shure sm57 dynamic mic. I have a few of them and they're very good all rounders. http://www.dv247.com/microphones/shu...rophone--13247

PM me if you have any more questions.
