    Icon5 Garrison Script and 4tpy Activated. blitzinh? What are these things?

    Hey I was reading the house rules and all this stuff about these things which should be activated. Where can you get the Garrison script? Also, what is 4tpy activated and Blitzinh? I think LT meant blitzing right? What exactly is Blitzing? Like Blitzkrieg? Rapidly advancing into enemy territory with large armies?

    Garrison script and 4tpy (4 turns per year) is activated when you press the "show me how" button when you start a game (no matter if its a new game or anytime you load). It won't give you any confirmation or anything, only way you will know its working is by two things.
    1st. There's gonna be 4 turns per year instead of default 2.
    2nd. When script has been running for more than 1 turn if you approach an enemy city with your units, it will automatically spawn a garrison in that town, sort of like the citizens mobilizing for defense.

    Blitzing refers to the act of advancing faster than the script works. So attacking towns before the script has been able to spawn this army and generally utilizing the flaws of the AI to gain ground is refered to as blitzing.

    Alright, noobiest question ever but here we go lol:

    This is like the 3rd mod I've played for RTW (and I am thoroughly enjoying it btw) but I do have a little confusion as how to activate the script after I load the game up again. In EB, whenever you would click on something for the first time in that new play session, the advisor would pop up to prompt you to activate the script, but I do not see anything like that with SPQR with the exception of the very first turn when you start a new campaign. I read something about activating the garrison script through the ESC menu, but doesn't the base script have to be activated before then, or is that it?

    Without script activated, and with the general idiocy amongst the AI armies, you can steamroll over entire map on any difficulty. Really, way way way way too easy.

    Blitzing also refers to allowing the AI to build up armies in SPQR. If you conquer his territory too fast then the AI will loose steam and the campaign will be an easy ride for you.

    If you take it more slowly, let some years pass by between taking enemy cities and you will have a great fun challenge facing strong full enemy AI army stacks.

    What if you load someones saved game ? Do you still have to press the show me how thing to enable the garrison script?

    You always have to press that button.
    When you start a new game. When you load your own save, when you load someone elses save. Otherwise script will bug and might corrupt your campaign, shooting you off into 200-something AD.
    You have to use it consequently always on or always off.
    Another thing, you're better off restarting you game between loading saves, as otherwise things might turn goofy aswell.

    Any loading is just a bad. You must play at least 1-2 turns before saving game, and never load before battle or anything or you are done for.Hell, never load even!

    The automated feature in EB is very nice actually, and I'ld like to see that in SPQR aswell.
    In SPQR you have to press any of the numerous "?"-signs in the top right corner of windows, ESC-menu being the one most often referred to as the one easiest to access. It doesn't really matter which one you choose to use, as all does the same thing. So now, any time you start a new or load a game you have to press this help-sign, and then press the "Show me how"-button. This activates the whole thing. However, it doesn't give you any confirmation that it has been activated.
    To my knowledge, it doesn't matter if you press this button several times, as it can only be activated once, and nothing happens if you press it more times.
    Be careful though, that you use it consequently, because if you play some with script inactive, and then activate it, and/or vice verse, then you might corrupt your campaign and if you didn't have a previous save, you would be "screwed" in commoner-speak.

    Ahhh I see. So it doesn't matter if the advisor starts rambling about how I can change my graphics or whatever, the script is still activated. Although the last time I played this I am pretty sure I did that (perhaps not through the ESC menu, but I did the show me how for one of the advisor things) and I got like two notifications that the Julii had started the civil war or something in the same turn. Is this normal, or did I probably just screw up something?

    The last bit of confusion I have with this mod (then I'm done... really! well for now anyway lol). Actually I think it kind of relates to my last question - the Senate has declared war on me and I am very very early in my campaign (when they did it I think I had just killed Hannibal - what a thing to outcast me for lol). I'm pretty sure it was because they have blockaded a port of mine. I thought their navy was removed in 7.0? This bit is not that big of a deal as they are very passive and have yet to leave their own province, so I can still play without any big game-breaking implications.

    Yeah, the advisor popup works just fine aswell.
    That notification about the civil war is a bug and nothing you need to care about. Just visual residue of whats going on behind the scenes. Also, SPQR can declare war on you but as long as they don't leave Latium with any troops, you will be fine. Now, if enemy armies gets too close, they might counterattack them, but after that they will return to Latium again. If you left any troops at all within Latium when you press the end turn button, that would provoke the Senate to go to war with you full out...
    I'm curious though how they managed to blockade a port of yours if they don't have any ships? You might wanna doublecheck if they still have boats, and if they do, maybe someone else can post a link to that hotfix?

    Thanks! Good to know there's nothing I really need to worry about. And yes I am sure it was because the Senate has a navy and decided to blockade one of my ports. So does that mean it is not 7.0 that gets rid of the Senate navy?

    Thanks for all the help though, I guess I can keep playing this mod without worrying that I screwed something up lol.

    There is hotfix for the senate ships. Other option is to take on senate ^^

    I just started a saved game that was somone elses, and the show me how option was grey, it wouldn't let me click on it. Why is that? Is something wrong?

    Press ESC and then the "?" press show me how when the girl speaks about the graphicsettings

    Oh I don't think I did that, I haven't played much yet, Ill do it next time I play. You mean pressing escape to go to the menu screen then setting advice on? The little tab with her in the left has the show me how thing greyed out. I guess I gotta enable it.

    Okay ignore my last post, seems I have a serious problem. I pressed reset adviser in the escape menu, and she spoke of graphics and the show me how button is still grey, it won't let me press it. Does this mean the script has already been enabled? I thought you had to enable it every time you loaded a save.

    everytime you load the game, press Esc, click in "?" and then the girls will speak about graphic settings, the press show me how.

    if it appears grey, and if it has been the first thing that you had done after the loading, you have to install SPQR again.

    Well I hope that works, Im using someone else's saved game file though and I already have a quicksave made from a bit of progression on his save. But don't you have to enable the script every time you load a save?
