    Default About difficulties

    Hello all,
I have a question regarding difficulties.
What is the difference between Medium, hard and Very Hard setting, in both campaign and battles.

    Thanks in advance

In battles, difficulty affects combat bonuses. On normal, it's level-level with no bonuses going to either the AI or the player. On easy, the human player receives 4+ attack bonus. On hard, it is the opposite, with the AI receiving a 4+ attack bonus. And lastly, on very hard, the AI receives a 7+ attack bonus. I believe there's also a morale bonus, however it's much more complex and inexplicable.

I'm not too sure about the campaign affects, but I suppose your starting money is a little less if you play a more difficult campaign and the AI will be more aggressive in terms of agents and such. I'm sure auto-resolving is affected by this too, but that's just speculation on my part.

the difference in campaign is that the AI apperantly has more money or troops are less expensive (for AI, as the diffuculty goes up) While playing H campaign with julii the only difference was the gauls kept throwing stacks at me untill i destroyed the nation. Expect more, bigger battles while fighting higher campaign difficulties. I have no idea what easy does, but im guessing the AI has less troops.

I think the money you start out with is the same, but you get less in taxes and stuff. Im not sure but you need to budget your money more so to say.

in campaign on hard the ai starts hiring mercs
and also the public order bonus for population boom is increased(ie you need 2% pop growth on easy say to get bonus and this is increased by say 1% per time, to say 6% at vhard before you get pop growth order bonus)

thats all i've noticed, the ai gets a bit m,ore aggressive. I dislike playing hard/vhard battles('cos its ridiculous...i'm not prepared to have norm eastern spears start rolling up my seleucid phalanxes lol) and tbh campaign vhard ain't relaly that hard

Very Hard setting should be full stacks almost everytime. So it is in ETW. Dragoon said to me something,
but i dont remember exactly. Ask maybe He knows.

Does anyone know more detailed infos about the campaign difficulty, what are the exact results and stats?

And I have read some years ago, that there is an bug in RTW so that campaign difficulty VH is easier than hard. Is this true and the most challenging game would be H/VH instead of VH/VH?
