    Default Campaign AI questons

Is there no way for the campaign AI to be improved? In my current campaign sylvan elves got destroyed because they sent thrandil and legolas into dol guldor alone (I don't know if I want to laugh or cry), Dwarves are currently chilling in erebor with enough stacks to take mordor, and High Elves are smoking some pipe weed in their corner.

Meanwhile OOTM is taking advantage of the fact that Thrandil decided that armies are for newbs , and has claimed everything north of Rohan, west of dale, and east of Eriador.

I mean, seriously. Something is wrong here. What really gets me is how stupid sylvans were. Ive never seen a faction leader without any form of army before, until now. Even ignoring that the dwarves and the "High" elves are still doing nothing. I mean, shouldent the Dwarves at least probe towards Moria a bit?

I saw Gandalf take on a full stack of OOTMM before...He initiated the attack.

He actually decimated half of it

There is a good vs evil submod out there, so that might be an improvement in your case. Don't forget that the way certain A.I. factions expand might be a bit random. In my latest campaigns I experienced for instance very aggressive Dwarves, in my current one they started with claiming a war on Eriador and a couple of turns later on HE.

Yes the Dwarves can be quite random. In my current campaign I took all of the Dwarven settlements east of the misty mountains so without any orks to fight they decided to conquer all of Eriador.

Something which isn't random just rare,Gondor has conquered half of Harad. They may have gone onto taking the rest of Harad but I decided it was time to invade Gondor.

Also the High Elves are being very passive, they have only taken 2 settlements after 110 turns.

    hey man..

    listen:

ive been playing since RTW, and i have a little theory of mine about the sometimes random AI behavior:

sometimes, when you start a vanilla campaign in mtw2 (or RTW even), if you wait some time some factions sometimes grow to be huge titanic factions while the next game the very same faction crumbles to dust in a few turns.

i have the theory that the game randomly picks a few factions at the start of the game to make them really "smart" and powerful, and actually take the time to check their strategies and attack ideas.

i have seen it in RTW, MTW, MTW2 and ETW. one game germany is invading rome, the next game it gets destroyed by Dacia.

in ETW, (most of the time) sweden can become a real powerhouse and next game it gets destroyed.

so, while the game picks 2 or 3 factions to become "powerhouses", the rest take a more passive AI.

in your game, you were unlucky enough to get silvan, eriador, and dwarves with passive AI, while Rhun or Mordor become all powerful.

i say this because ive played the ocassional game where Rohan wipes out Isengard and OOTMM (wtf!?) before warring Rhun.

Sorry but this sounds like heavy to me.
