Where are the Banners?

In all the battles I've been in so far (dark-age campaign), none of my units or the enemy units (so far rebels) have banners. This makes it rather hard to tell the enemy units apart. For example, I can't tell which unit is the enemy captain. Sure it's easy to tell which is the general (heavy cavalry and all), but it's rather annoying having to look through all the enemy units to find the captain. It also makes it annoying if the enemy units are very close together, as it makes it harder to choose the right unit I want to attack with artillery.

Is the lack of banners a bug or something?

Yeah I had the problem too. As far as I remember you just have to open the medieval2.preference.cfg file and then search for banners. Then in the line show_banners = 0 you type 1 instead of 0. That should do the trick

a bug... how can somebody say realistic view is a bug ??
in real battles, you can't see captains... there is no gigantus banner "kill me i'm here, so bored of life" over captains

I don't really care if the no banner thing is realistic. I like being able to tell the units apart.

Thank you for the answer Kralle, it did have it set to 0, so I changed it to 1.
