Default Could really use some help...

    ...installing TLR v2.4

I've tried following the other threads, but I still haven't managed to get it right

Anyways, I've downloaded TLR v2.4 (and the 2.4.1 patch) to my PC, but honestly I've no idea what to do next. Do I need to use some program to extract the files from the file I downloaded? I tried using winrar to extract the files to the medieval 2 folder. I started up the game, but when I click a faction to play as I simply get directed back to the main menu...

A detailed guide on how to install this would be VERY appreciated - looks like an awesome mod!

    Thanks!

P.S. I've done a fresh install of Medieval 2: Total War (Gold Edition) - so if there's anything that needs to be done before installing the mod, let me know.

You need version 2.0 of the mod also.

The problem is hunting that down. But version 2.0 is a old version but it stable.

You take that and install of add it to you medieval 2 folder. Then get 2.4 As it has all the new changes and then add it to your The Long road folder.

The version2.0 I had had it own installer which set up a folder called the long road in my medieval 2 folder, I got that from a pcgamer disc.

    Yea, I can't find 2.0 anywhere...

I was actually able to start a new campaign with just v2.4, but it has the white UI error that's mentioned in another thread...it's also kind of hit and miss trying to start a new campaign.

You're sure that 2.0 has to be installed before 2.4?

Well that is the general suggested route to install the mod properly.

That how I did it and I had not problems with the UI being white I have had crashes. But that something else.
