Just had a bit of a question for you all, but how do you, as a consumer, predict NTW will sell when it's released? Do you think it will be prosperous? A disaster? Custom option?

This is not based on how well you think the game will be, but on how well it sells.

ca has done a good job convincing people. and that's all it takes.

i have zero faith in the mass consumer base.

Since the main body of customer base bears many striking similarities to a herd of sheep, I guess it will sell pretty much as Empire did.

    Agreed.

They get excited. Can`t help themselves and it`s `buy`, just out of excitement and to have that `new` shiny thing. Doesn`t matter what happened before. reminds me of an episode of the Simpsons where 1 sec it`s `CA sux!` then CA pull out some nice colours and it`s `we luv you, CA!` I just wish those who say they won`t buy had the backbone not to - at least right at release or preorder.

    Sad really.

It would not be a disaster, but will be much worse than Empire.Who wants to buy the same game twice?

I think it will sell on an average level. Not more nor less successful than previous releases. There's still many TW fans who will pre-order and buy anything CA makes, regardless of past failures or successes.
A lot of buyers were naively happy with ETW, which probably opened the eyes of a new generation of folks that have never played a TW game before.

I think it will sell, but at a lesser amount than ETW. I feel quite a few customers are going to be cautious this time around and will wait for the word on the street as to whether or not it's a good title.
The extra development time will allow us to finalize and polish Empire, making it the most accomplished and epic of the Total War series." said Kieran Brigden, Studio Communications Manager at The Creative Assembly. "There is a great deal of anticipation around Empire: Total War and we want to ensure that it is the benchmark for strategy games upon its release.
