    Default Help!

I don't understand these directions at all!

I downloaded the mod as one file, saved it to it's own folder on my hard drive, tried to export it to the Medieval 2 directory using 7-zip, but it doesn't work! What am I doing wrong here?

First off, download the mod's main files here. Once you do that, extract all of the files to your Medieval 2 directory (C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War).

Once that's done, download the 1.6 here. After that is done downloading, extract that to your "conquest" folder (C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods).

Then finally, download all of the patches (found in the same link as above). Once they're downloaded, extract the "conquest_patch" file to your Medieval 2 directory (C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War), and the "1500" and "new_age" files to your "conquest/data" folder (C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\conquest\data)

Is this mod totally seperate from Medieval 2, like Broken Crescent, or does this mess with the files of Medieval 2 and I won't be able to play vanilla again?

I have the same question, and if you could give the answer soon, before I go to the trouble of re-downloading everything again that would be great!

Here are the instruction from the download thread.

    Code:
    0) Download the three parts of this mod from http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...o=file&id=2213 and unpack it using 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/).

    1) Put the conquest 1.5.7z.001, conquest 1.5.7z.002, and conquest 1.5.7z.003 in the same folder.

    2) Right click on the 'conquest 1.5.7z.001', select '7-zip' on the pop-up menu, then select 'Extract Here'. 7zip will unpack all three files. If you have problems extracting these files you can download the whole mod as one file here http://depositfiles.com/en/files/opie1pxqq .

    3) After being unpacked you will have a 'data' folder, 'mods' folder, 'conquest XP.bat', 'conquest VISTA.bat', and 'conquest.cfg'. These all need to be put into the Medieval II Total War directory (default location 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War').
7zip is used to unpack the 7z file.

If 7zip has successfully unpacked the 'conquest 1.5.7z' you will have 'data' folder, 'mods' folder, 'conquest XP.bat', 'conquest VISTA.bat', and 'conquest.cfg'.

These files need to be copied to the 'Medieval II Total War' directory. The default location is 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War' but if you installed M2TW somewhere else it won't be here. I have no way of determining where you have installed M2TW.

I'm not sure where you need to put these files it you got M2TW and Kingdoms from steam.

So we put the mod in one folder and put that folder in Medieval 2 directory, it won't affect Medieval 2 then? Ok I'm downloading.

One problem though is the new age and 1500 fix is when I paste them in where you want it says something about overwriting, what do I do?

Probably say okay because it's a patch. It's over writing the old file.

And @ Uanime and The Holy Pilgrim, thanks for the help! I can't wait to get started! Now I just have to fix everything I screwed up the first time around!

The fix folder only contains one file the old folder contains loads of files.

This is why I'm worried, oh well should I just paste the fix into the old folder and let it overwrite the old text?

This mod has it's own mod folder (like Third Age) and I highly resommend deleting the conquest folder you have before you try reinstalling the mod

I forgot, you are also going to need to install the version 1.51 patch here (step 2 at the top)

What patch 1.51? I'm downloading the full one from deposit files?
    Is this what you mean?

Dang it! 6644kp is right. I thought it said patch 1.51, but instead that's just the entire mod (version 1.5) in one download.

    Haha, that's okay!
Thanks so much for the help! The full version finished downloading and I'm now working on the patches!
I will rep you both tomorrow!
    Hows you're DL going 6644kp?
Edit: I did everything the instructions said, everything installed without error, but when I try to load a campaign the command prompt runs through all of these crazy codes, closes, then nothing. Is this fixed in a patch or do I have to re-install?

Hmmm.... I finished downloading the 1.1 gb download from deposit files, do I make the folder and put it in C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods and name it as conquest?

EDIT: I did that and it doesn't work.

You've downloaded the whole mod instead of the three files? Once unpacked, you should have "a 'data' folder, 'mods' folder, 'conquest XP.bat', 'conquest VISTA.bat', and 'conquest.cfg'. These all need to be put into the Medieval II Total War directory (default location 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War')."

To patch it to the 1.5.2, unpack the .rar file and put the files in the conquest folder (default location 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\conquest) and say yes everytime it ask you to overwrite. To patch it to the 1.6, unpack and put the conquest folder in \Medieval II Total War\mods or open it and put the data folder in Medieval II Total War\mods\conquest just as you did for the 1.5.2.
