Default great mod, few comments though

Hi all. Wow what a great mod this is. After giving up on Empire i decided to replay the classics and i realized Rome total war (especially with this mod) is way better than Empire will ever be. I just have a few questions about the mod.

    1. It seems like cavalry charges are very slow, even for light cavalry charges. Is this normal? intended?

    2. It takes very long for battles to end. Enemy units refuse to rout, and i sit around with the 3x game speed going watching a battle that takes 20 minutes. Is this too intended?

    3. The phalanx seems weak in this game. Guaranteed it was overpowered in vanilla, it just seems like anyone can roll over a "well placed" phalanx.

These cover my BASIC questions. But I just want to say again thank you for this mod. It has truly inspired me to replay the classics again.

    Thanks, Dr. Pibb.

    1. Charge seems no different than any other mod to me

    2. which is the point. Units are balanced out better to make battles longer and realistic how many historic battles where over in
    10-20 minutes.

3.The phalanx is very capable of holding its own from the front against even the best of units however if your referring to the fact that if flanked the phalanx crumbles then is is simply realistic. Phalanxes are vulnerable from flanks and rear but have a strong front, yet the more they push forward, the more the formation breaks up, especially over rough terrain, (again realistic). So enemy units start to infiltrate the gaps and unless you have something to plug the gaps, such as light infantry or cavalry to attack from the flank/rear, your gunna lose.

    1) I think the cavalry charges are just at the right speed. It may be your frame rate.

    2) If you use good troops, coupled with simple tactics (like flanking maneuvers and the sort), then enemies should begin to either rout or be slaughtered.

    3) A well placed phalanx platoon in a tight city block can hold that block against the most elite units until an enemy unit flanks it.

Well i figured out i was using 1.5 then switched to 1.6 so now the cavalry charges seem much better and my battles are over much quicker. Thanks for the replies though
