    Default AAR

What if we could invite Yats (you are the senate) to use RS 2.
Let's say we add a new forum part (much like the beta forum) only that this one is made for the Yats campaign.

Once we release the mod we would have a great AAR to display where multiple people was involved in.

Another great part of this is that each one of the old time YATSie's are long time player that really likes super hard games and thus are great testers when it comes to campaign difficulties.
I know that RTR invited some key members of TWC to pre test there mod to gain to publicity.

If the team likes the idea I can talk with Winter ( the creator of Yats) and see if we could arrange something.

True, we invited Theodotos I and Legio to write AARs and we also asked Prince_of_Macedon to make a movie preview for us of a multi-player battle

I'm in favor of this, as a YATS member, but I do have some warning about it.

The membership right now is down to mostly Ozy, Winter, Dragoon, and fergusmck. I occasionally poke in once in a while but usually don't do much in terms of posts anymore due to school.

Also, YATS in its current state is more focused upon building stories about characters rather than a true AAR like it was supposed to be, focusing more on senate debates rather than battles etc, meaning that if we were to put this into an AAR for RS2, then we'd have to change the playing style significantly.

Finally, there is that issue of secrecy, I know that this current crowd of players will probably be able to keep secret, but suppose someone new is taken on board just for the purpose of playing RS2 before the general release? It'll be a problem that we'd have to deal with.

Interesting idea, I just don't know how feasible it may be.

We could limit the RS 2 campaign to the old guard couldn't we? + Yeah Yats isn't specifically an AAR but it uses many parts of the AAR foundation.
I think it's possible to do it. Maybe just add a bit more focus on the game and a little less on the roleplaying aspect.

I mean it's certainly do-able and I'm definitely in favor of that since it'll boost membership after RS2's release. If we can resolve these issues that I put forth then we should be fine.

You could always give them a special edition where the skins of the Romans (and other things that are still secret) are totally black to ensure they don't get previewed before they're meant to be

(But in our case everything went perfect and nothing has been previewed by hose people that should not have been previewed...)

How is this idea progressing along? Is it gutted?

    The discussion died of.

Ok as we really would like to realease this at the end of this month I don't see any problem with giving a certain groupe acces to the mod. I don't think it's likely that they are going to expose any secret matterial during the short time that is left.

Plus giving one comunity a head start would be a great way of advertice the release.
A healthy comunity is what's makes a great mod in the end.

Ok, if the rest of the team is fine with this, then either you or I can pm winter and tell him about it.

OK, I'll pm Winter about the details of the whole thing and start setting up a private forum within YATS to host the RS2 AAR.

Sorry 'bout my recent absence, but if you want I can start up an AAR for one of the more 'insignificant' factions (I mean by this the type that we don't always look to he first time we play the game) such as Pontus.

I have already written an AAR on the RS1.5 Seluecids, so I can do this if you want. Plus, I am already here, I have been on this team since late 2008, so no worries of leaked RS2 items

    get back to me sometime,

If I got it right Winter seems to have accepted our proposition.
However I think we have to wait for chaplain to login until we get all the details.

YATS for RS 2. I'm so excited about this.

Yep, winter has accepted our proposition and has managed to collect a list of names to contact to see interest. Ozy has sent out the requests to the others, I'll pm him about giving me a list that I can forward to the Dev team.

It'd be good just to get the rebellion scripting finalised first (and probably a stable version of the Play_Test folder ideally)

YATS won't ever make it to the rebellion point. That I can assure you.

Btw, umm, anything new here? Has the idea died, or is it just waiting for the polishing of the campaign.
