I just find it a bit ridiculous from a historical point of view that Catholic and MUslim nations are willingly joining alliances together left, right and centre.

I can see trade happening it a well recorded fact that there was some trade, and there were peace agreements and so forth. I know crusaders allied with the mongols in fighting the muslims at certain times but I've never heard of any Muslim and Catholic alliance at that time.

well, they did not have the same level of hatred that we see now days and that's a fact. However...the seeds of hate were well engendered after about 1453 CE.

So basically the AI only truly hates you when you give it a reason to hate you? Does it go to holding a grudge for hundreds of years.
