Playing as the Julii at the moment. Only early days into the campaign but I am always looking for ways of cutting off Brutii and Scipii expansion.
Have taken Carthage and Sardinia from the blues and am now coming around into the Balkans to snap up any prizes from my green cousins.
Then it struck me...(now this may seem lame, cheating or just pointless but...) when you siege a town/city with an ally if you attack first, even if your troops do not fight anyone and your ally actually wins the settlement you still get it.
How about this?
Build a half decent army and then march it into your roman ally's lands. Keep and eye on where they are sieiging and quickly reinforce. Then assault before your allies do, sit back and let them take the casualty hit and hand the settlement over to you on a plate.
Okay it may be a rubbish idea, cheating the AI, which you don't really need to do but hey. Just an idea...![]()
