Default Review/Feedback and an offer to help out.

I've been playing mods for Medieval II Total War since the game first came out, but I later left Medieval II and went onto a game called MountnBlade and made a variety of mods and armours for it, but now I have returned and I have feasted my eyes upon the great Broken Crescent...

    So...Likes.

I love the aggression in the game, I think the fast pace is very good (although I do hate racing the same kingdoms for supremacy, the Seljuks, ERE and the Ayyubids are always really powerful with the Ghazi in the east being the dominant player.) a part from that the models, units and map are beautifully done, so I praise the artists there. I love how the economy works and I love everything in short. xD

    A few personal issues.

I don't like racing to win, it's a really fast paced game and it sometimes annoys me.
I start to lag whenever I reach mid game, not so much because theres a few hundreds armies hanging around, but because the major cities (especially as KoJ) spam my map with trade carts, yes it makes me rich but it also makes it lag whenever I go anywhere near egypt which annoys me too.

In all I think the mod rocks and I can't wait for BC 3.0 to come out, which leaves me writing this message. I am a texture maker and I know how to do basic modding for TW. Below is a spoiler/image of my previous work for mountnblade since I long lost any work I've ever done for medieval 2 total war.

I hope I can be of some assistance to this amazing team. I study asian history (I'm majoring in it) and I could always help with other bits and pieces if you would like.

The upload ruined the images a little, it probably happened when I converted the file for an easier upload speed. But you should get the jist of what I do.

I'm sure that anything you'd be willing to help out with would certainly help the BC 3.0 project; so if your interested, just PM one of the team members (or Wundang) about joining the team.

Nice re-skins, by the way: I played Mount & Blade for a bit, and these are some of the most natural looking armor expansions I've seen in that game (compared to other armor available in the OSP packs).

Thank you. I would like to stress that when I modded mount n blade the renders and mapping features that you can use now were not present when I did those textures, so they were rendered without the use of bump maps or normal maps. I've already started some spare work on a few of the units in game. I'm currently skinning parts of the Jerusalem faction (most are amazing) although I noticed that a few of the early units seemed a little blurry (less detailed) which I assume were native based. Compared to the quality of the new skins they seemed to lack so I've started re-skinning the poor quality pictures. Wudang pm'd me and I've sent a response back to him so we'll see what happens. I do love this mod though, so i'll try my best to do whatever is required. ^^

Also, for my history major I am covering the Mongolian expansion, the chinese empires of jin/chin and song and I know a lot about medieval europe and parts of the asian countries. So I'll help wherever I can. I may edit the Mongols if I get a chance, some of the units didn't look right when I fought against them. I need to make sure the Mongols have lots of lancers, historically they loved their lancers.

Six of every ten Mongol soldiers were light cavalry horse archers, whilst the remaining four were more heavily armed lancers. ^^

Yeah, I think they still have some units left over from the early development phase (KOJ, Georgian, Armenian, and some early Seljuks I believe), most have been converted to rebel troops, but I haven't noticed many of them in-game. Might as well brush them up since they're taking up unit slots.

Cool, we have some decent plans for the Mongols in BC, so any help/research concerning the Horde will definitely come in handy.

I'd be more than happy to help with the Mongols in BC 3.0.

Also, I've been working on KoJ and boy, some of these textures are amazing. I'm redoing a lot of the sergeant ones as they aren't as good as the others, in my personal opinion.

Agreed. Some of the lower tier units could use some polishing IMO.

Yeah, I've done a few. I'll test them in game and put them up later on. I'm going for new chain-mail types/designs, so we'll see how it goes.

Oi Hai Yelu. I'll come to your mod soon. I'm just finishing a few things. xD

I'll have screens off the few edits I've made later or tomorrow, it depends if I can be bothered to tackle those 4 massive texture files for KoJ.

Okay, I'm closing this thread to prevent from revealing too much information about mod development.
