Everytime I click the icon, it just exits out of the command console and never starts the game, I did everything, and when I try to edit anything (chaning moves from false to true), it just doesnt save

Please, IM SOOOOOOOOO Close to playing this awesome game

Which OS? I know DLV works for XP and Vista home premium 64 (which I use).

You could look into the logs folder in the MTW2 root directory, there should be a txt file called system.log.txt and perhaps it gives a hint what's wrong. There is many resons for a game crashing on startup, but since you have just installed the game I suspect a faulty installation. Have you follwed the installation instructions? Maybe skipped one line accidentally?

I used the BitTorrent Installation, I also did the English Sound Check, I swear I followed every instruction

Also there is no systems.log in the directory

Are you using the english version? If so, you must not flag the box, aka leave it unchecked (if I remember correctly, but it is written there in the installation box). Only check it if you are using the non english one.

But that's not a big problem, there are two batch files in the DLV_ext folder, called adapt_sound_english and adapt_sound_nonenglish. Try running the one that applies to your version, it also automatically deletes all the other files that are generated on startup and could cause a problem.

If that doesn't help I'd try to reinstall instead of searching for an error, it's definitly faster.

Edit: If there's no system log in the dir the game crashes even before it can create this error report.

Oh sorry, I did uncheck it.

But thanks anyway if I screwed up

Anyways, where do I find the error report

Unchecking is correct, it's checked for non english and unchecked for english. I installed two month ago, so maybe I do not remember correctly.

The error report would be in \MTW2\logs and would be called system.log.txt. But if no file is there your game crashes even before creating this report.

Did you try the bat file?

Edit: Do you have the Patch 1.5 for Kingdoms installed ? DLV will only run for Kingdoms with the 1.5 patch.
Edit2: Maybe this helps too http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=143177

Sounds like you installed 6.2 to the wrong folder, Berdiche Knyaz. Install it again and this time let it go in the m2tw folder, like it wants to

Yeah, that's the wrong one. 6 goes in the mods folder but 6.2 goes in the m2tw folder.

Do you mean you haven't installed 6.2 at all?

If so then I suggest you reinstall 6.0. It sounds like it cannot find the kingdoms.exe, and so perhaps check drive letter and folder when you reinstall.

    *sighs*

    Alright heres what I did

I installed DLV 6.0 from BitTorrent
It told me it was done
    the problem is this:
Everytime I keep clicking on the icon, the command console comes up, then a milli-second later, it gos away, and the game never plays
I did the whole *script* trace, and other ways, still it never works
    It's on the mod folder
I unchecked the english language box
    Im on Kingdoms 1.5
But the Command Console or anything in the DLV file never starts up

    So in short:
WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH THE COMMAND CONSOLE!?!?!?!?!

I did everything you told me to do! and it justs never plays! It torments as IM THIS ****ING CLOSE TO PLAY!!!!!!

    .......
If nothing cant actually help me from this annoying problem, then sorry but, fix the problem with another installation option, like Filefront, that isn't parts 1 or 2, because that didnt work for me either.

Happened to me, i did a file check and saw that my torrent was corrupt, so i used FMD to download it of filefront and it worked...
But i dont know if its the same for you?
Possibly another mod interferes with DLV?
Having over 5 mods for kingdoms causes the kingdom.exe just to turn into sleep mode and doesnt do crap.

These have been my problems when i first got this mod...

This was a pointless post because i was bored and wanted to dig into my memory for a solution, Im so confused ill stop typing in three fullstops...

There is definitely *nothing* wrong with the torrent download, 1200 people have downloaded it so far. I also suggest you install 6.2 if you want people here to help you out.

Also there could be something wrong with your OS in that it obviously cannot launch a .bat file. Since you didn't post what OS you are running I guess its XP? So here's what you can try:

    - Open command prompt with Startmenu -> Run -> type "cmd" or what ever you do on Vista/Win7
    - type c: (or whatever drive you installed M2TW)
    - type cd "Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\DLV_ext" (the folder where DLV is)
    - type Launch_DLV_ext.bat

If the game does not start it should at least give some kind of message in that window which you can post here.

If you have Vista I don't know, there are specific problems with that OS, have you the help tips here?
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=219297

-for vista problem: open DLV_ext.cfg in path C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\DLV_ext and change the parameters to: then restart the game

    widescreen=0
    movies = false

There's not really not a lot more us guys can do, it works for mostly everyone else. Sorry...

The Danes, I swear, with their half arsed attempts at a 'war'. You gotta give it to 'em, they just dont stop trying. Listen, I've fought the Timurids, ever heard of them? Elephants with cannons on their backs. Yea, Timurids. You guys are like kids on tricycles compared to them. -REZ

I am sorry to hear that it is still not working. This must be very frustrating

Might I suggest that you ask someone at your place (friend, bro/sis, mother/father), who also speaks English, to look at what you are doing after reading the installation instructions? Four eyes can see more than two and maybe you are doing something "wrong" without noticing it?

..... I dont think that will ever happen to be honest.

It just pisses me off that everybody can play DLV but my computer has to be the only Btch and not play, that gets me frustrated. This also happened to Chivalry II: Sicilian Vespers.....

I honestly followed every instruction, the command prompt is just being a total , closes, and doesnt let me play

    Vista user must:

    Disable UAC.

Install to folder other than programs files.

Use XP compatibility mode on all installers.

    I think that's about it... I don't use Vista.
