Default Most played faction or leasy played faction

As the title sais, what is your most played faction or your least played faction and why?

For me ive never played the Scythians since most of my strategies involve combined arms armies and the Scythians have really poor infantry from my experience in Vanilla so this kinda influenced me to avoid them like the plague. My most played faction would be the Iberians since I enjoy their infantry and their starting location, the 3 passes to the north are easy to defend and south once i beat off the main Carthaginian forces ive pretty much got them under my heel.

My most played faction: Rome, because they're awesome. (Really, I like the formations that they used in battle, the legions and.. stuff.)

Least played? I have played only 3 factions so I can't really say.

Most: Rome. And the Greek/Macedon factions.

I never really played something else, only Carthage sometimes and Egypt.

I saw this post and it made me check out the files for the game...... you were right! No archers! I had to correct this, and now I am off to play a campaign as them just for the hell of it.

i usually play with romans, but i also play as hellenized factions like the greeks and the diadochi, some times i play as eastern factions but i hardly ever touch the barbarians. Not playing Carthage is just a matter of principle.

I actually have been hating Rome lately (ironically) for the Legion system. Something about not being able to retrain legions in every city deters me a bit.

I play Epirus the most, actually, because they start small and have Hellenic armies.

I have NEVER even STARTED a campaign as Gaul. I have tried Germans but they never appeal to me, the whole barbarian thing.

People tend to like organization and to know what they are controling, with barbarians, alot of people dont really know what they are doing, nor how to fight with them other than to charge blindly, as taught by movies, thats why nobody here seems to like them, or at least i think thats the reason.

Lol, the Germanic tribes are great, no enemies but rebels for a while. Although ive never used the bear warriors, their defence is too low for my taste.

I actually mostly played the germans (and sometimes romans), once the rebels had been disposed of, and in case the romans decided to join (otherwise a new campaign had to be started), they where a real nice faction to command, this could have something to do with me being a total germanophiliac.

Using them for a hammer and anvil tactic works like a charm, they have an especially good anvil and their hammer is ok.

I can't wait to play them in RS2, with them extra celtic neighbours and such.
"The only question that remained was whether the founders knew the final result of their creation, or if they themselves where the victims of a misunderstanding.
In the latter case it was the duty of any thinking human, to press himself into the front of this depraved movement, to perhaps still prevent the extreme, in the former case the founders of this peoples disease must have been true devils; for only in the brain of a monster - not of a human - could the plan for an organisation take meaningfull form, whose purpose must lead toward the end result of a collapse of human culture and thus to the desolation of the world.
In this case only battle remained as a means of final delivery, battle with any weapons that the human mind, intellect and will are able to comprehend, regardless, of whom fate would gift with it's blessing."

Mostly Played: Romans, Carthage, Macedonians, Greeks, Seleucids, Germans, Iberians, Sarmatians.

Least Played: Syracuse, Ptolemaics, Parthians, Gallic Tribes, Armenia, The Getae, Bosporans

Never Played (Ever): Epeiros, Pergamum, Pontus

Reasons for playing certain factions more: is because i find them more interesting because i try to relate to some type of historic value that excites me to play them over other factions which i find less interesting.

Which really is something that i have to yet explore about this game, these factions i have not yet played are probably quite interesting to play and challenging because they have small territories to start with.

I find the only factions i actually continue on with and have ever really conquered the entire map, is the Roman faction, all the other factions when i get to a point of dominance, i usually stop playing that campaign as it loses interest. And recently i have found myself leaving other factions capitals unconquered and i dont destroy factions, as an act of Honour, co-existance and respect to those factions and to have someone to show that my faction is the greatest in that campaign. And every now and again they put an army on the field just to test my massive empires only to be crushed and brought back to reality. And back to trading if they wish to challenge again, sad little system hey...

I am very excited about a Spartan faction in RS2, and i am also curious about the other new Factions. And most exciting of all i cant wait to see and play with all the new units that have been created.

I tried the Sarmatians because of the reference in the Movie "King Arthur" as the Knights of the round table coming from the great steppes of Sarmatia. oh well, over active imagination, what can i say. Great fun while it lasts.

Pergamon would be the most played for me. And I love playing as a Barbarian Faction, especially Gaul their guerrilla warfare is amaizing, just try it. Have a custom battle with Gauls against any faction and prepare an ambush. Devide your infantry in two, place them facing each other to the right and to the left of your general(bait), the units can hide anywhere so all the enemy will see is your general and will start marching at him, when they close enough let your units get up and slaughter them from the flanks. Its a massacre lads and it works like a charm. Anyway least played is Parthia.

I have played to Romans numerous times. However, I do not feel that they are my favorite faction. I like Parthia but their difficult and far 'homeland' keeps me from playing them much. Therefore, I think that the Sarmatians/Scythians are my most favorite! I think they are much alike the Parthians but their starting positions is more interesting for you can go east too (you fall from the earth if you do that with the Parthians). Although it's a somewhat difficult start, once the Sarmatians/Scythians are on the move, almost nothing can stop them!
