After reading about how kool the extra horse unit will be , I will have to admit, I hastely rushed to to the Steam and pre-bought the darn game. I hardly belive I am unique in this position and wonder how many of the critics will quietly shell-out the money for the paid patch. Rule of the economics is to chage as much as the market is willing to bare. If people buy their games- rip-off after rip-off, they will just keep making them. If people don't, then it's the end of total was series. In any case, fans loose.

Man, that is one interesting post. You are an enigma wrapped in a mystery, shrouded in something shroud-like.

You present as a dilemma something which isn't. You appear to be well aware of the situation and the potential downsides. If you like it, buy it. If you don't enjoy Total War, then you shouldn't lament its demise. If you are worried that the product won't meet your standards, don't buy a pre-release copy for a single unit.

    There is no angst here.

No one MADE you buy the game. CA didn't hold you at gunpoint and told you to order it off steam now! So its your own fault for being so gullible.

You were fooled by the kool horse unit.

Lesson learned: beware of horses bearing gifts.
The extra development time will allow us to finalize and polish Empire, making it the most accomplished and epic of the Total War series." said Kieran Brigden, Studio Communications Manager at The Creative Assembly. "There is a great deal of anticipation around Empire: Total War and we want to ensure that it is the benchmark for strategy games upon its release.

Impulse purchases is caused by the costumer, if you feel the desire to quickly buy something after seeing a flashy advertisement, you may be suffering from impulse purchases.

There is no cure. (except going completely bankrupt)

Fortunately I know CA enough to don't trust, I'll wait to buy NTW only if they will release tools for modders and a new patch for Empire.

I just wish more of you people would have some BACKBONE. This is why CA ignores those of us who try to get them to fix the REAL problems and listen only to people like you who are so easily moved by pretty uniforms or nice animations.

Truly, those of us who are strong stand alone.

And, by the way, you were not forced. After Empire, everyone should be able to resist if they don`t really want to purchase.

fans lose only because of impulse buyers like yourself which consist of a large portion of ca fans, and probably any consumer base.

    but yes, fans do lose.
