just wondering... it was a bust in ETW and wondering if CA, Lusted, or any of the staff who have now recently started posting could just drop in and say...

    yeeeeah..... or nawh.....

i'm wondering because i am either going to get the same card for sli... or sell it and get a higher end. sli would work with my resolution 1920x1200 so i would like to know; because i dont want to have to roll back my drivers just to play NTW...

    lastest drivers are 196.21 - Jan 19th 2010....

CA has avoided answering questions about driver support or SLI like the plague... If you post about it on the Shogun forums all that happens is the administrators and moderators heckle you and tell you how it's not their problem.

I honestly would avoid sli and just get one high end card if your going to spend the money, imo sli just really isn't worth it not to mention some micro stuttering issues that can happen. I replaced my sli set-up with the ati 4870x2 when it first came out and it has been a rock solid card.

the 4870x2 works the same as SLI (crossfire)... It's basically 2 GPU's printed on one card connected with an internal crossfire bridge. So the question remains, will NTW utilize 2+ GPU's?

Consider yourself lucky if the release version runs on a single card. It didn't for many of us with Empire. Forget SLI, the Empire engine has enough problems running period.

No because casual players don't have sli.

"Casual" players probably can't even run the game with all the eyecandy CA puts in it...

It's an nvidia technology that allows you to add an additional graphic card of the same type for increased performance. But it's often highly dependant on drivers and game programming to work properly.

and back to the top we go... until CA can atleast address this. even an idk would be acceptable.

i have a gtx260 core 216... SLI or go bigger? res is 1920x1200 (so SLI would actually have an impact).

Thats a decent card. Why do you feel the need to get a better one? If it is because of lagging with Empire, the better cards actually seem to have more issues with Empire than the slower ones.

Anyway, if you feel you absolutely *must* upgrade, then I suggest the GTX275. Its a nice tradeoff of features. I can run everything maxed on just about every game. Otherwise buy another GTX260 and go SLI. You don't have to take out the additional card if you want to run it with just 1 card.

i too, for the most part, can run it all maxed - there is some stuttering when the screen if filled to the brim with units, smoke, a fort, etc... but nothing that is like a slideshow.

i guess im looking at it cuz i mostlikely am going to get badcompany 2... and would like to try to max that. it would be cheaper to go the SLI rout, but if NTW doesnt support it... I might as well spend 100 more on a newer card.

and back to the top we gooooo.... CA? can u say anything... even a MAYBE???

I'm just happy it can run on a single nvidia card alright since people with nvidia cards who have the preview version seem to be able to run it fine at max with none of the graphical glitches that plagued E:TW. I think SLI is likely to work to an extent, just don't expect an 80% increase in performance.
