National description

History of Croatian people streaches long since the age of Persia and most likely they came from that part of world. In 7th century they were called by Byzantinian emperor to the land where Croatia is situated today. At first they were vassals to Byzant but they ridded themselves from Byzants authority and eventualy forged a strong and powerfull Kingdom of Croatia witch lasted up to 10th century when the Hungarian king proclaimed himself Croatian king too. Croatia after that wasn`t free because later it came under the rule of Austria along with Hungary but Hungary was in a twin kingdom with Austria and Croatia was nothing but a region where Austria gathered soldiers. Croatian road to independence began in spring 1699. With the Ottomans driven from Croatian and Austrian lands it was time to rebuild. Because Wienna was sieget, Austria has risen taxes so Hungarians needed to pay about 30% more, but Croatians almost 80% more. Hungary demandet lower taxes but when Austria thretend to send an army, they stopped complaining. In the meantime a new king Josip I. stepped on the throne of Austria. He was partialy Croatian on his mother`s side so he lowered taxes to Croatia. One day somewere in the summer Croatians wanted some more rights in the kingdom. They wanted their own parlament whitch would be in Varaždin so Varaždin becamed capital of Croatia. Josip agreaded to this but Austrian nobles weren`t happy about it. Croatia gained more rights but the austrian police in Croatia arested inocent people and torchered them in prisons. Soldiers stacionated in Croatia robbed houses and killed people for fun. Croatian parlament sended emissaries to Wienna to negotiate with the king about it. When the king agreeded to withdraw all soldiers from Croatian theritory, nobles maded a plot to kill the king. Emissaries were killed but the king heard about the plot and escaped in time. He camed to Varaždin to seek a hideout. Croatians agreed and immediately the parlament declared independence of Croatia. Parlament voted unanimously that the new Croatian king would be Josip I. New Austrian king sent an army and they had bourned Varaždin to the ground. New capital was after that Zagreb. In October gen. Ivan V. Drašković gathered an huge army to fought the Austrians. They fought near Virovitica and have defeated the mighty Austrian army. After that, because of the Ottoman threat, Croatia asked for a protectorate from Austria and they agreed because Josip threatened to enter in an alliance vith Prussia. Now Croatia was finally free of foregin rulers and was ready to prosper. This mod is not 100% historically accurate !!!

Instructions

1) unrar the file 2) copy CRO_mod.pack and CRO_loc.pack in D:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data 3) copy CRO_mod folder in D:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data\campaigns 4) activate mod with mod_manager 1.5 5) Launch the game !!! 6) Enjoy the mod !!!

more units couldn't hurt.
-hussars are "must have"
-you can use "Sir Digby Chicken Caesar #" units (look under Austria)

With the new DMUC custom campaign option, you could have your mod as a sub mod in Darth Mod Ultimate Commander.

We are thinking about adding Haramijas, Uskoci, Karlovački mušketiri, Mušketire "crne" pukovnije, Hajduci...
We will make Darthmod compatibile mod !!!

you shouldnt use other mods with this one, it causes conflicts, more than you should have
it might cause problems that nobody else has
