I've done a redownload and reinstall myself and I have had no problems or bugs whatsoever, so I think the Northern Captain bug has been fixed.
Do you have some more details on your particular problem?

Well basically, when I install 0.7 everything goes fine but once I'm playing and I right click a unit to view the info card the game keeps running, however once I close the card it crashes. No log in in the lof folder.. (how can I activate that?)

I only managed to install 0.7 once, my computer told it was installed incorrectly and asked if I wanted to fix it. I did and after auto uninstalling and reinstalling the program asked me to restart the computer.. which it didn't in all the other times I installed it. That version ran very wel, but I put in the 0.8 beta files and now it dc's again..

The most recent ctd was while clicking a spear militia in order to put it in the recruit line of a city (faction Lower lotharingen) Another one happened while beeing in the town detail scroll, everything just froze.

Those CTD's of yours are way too random to be an installing mistake I think. The fact your CTD happens on different occassions every time points at corrupt and damaged files. Which download did you use? I recommend the installer executable for 0.7 for the sake of convenience. Make sure you unzipped the 0.8 zip folder correctly, because it's often a reason for damaged files if they're still compressed.

Also, have you tried playing Kingdoms or any other Kingdom's mod lately? Their might be something wrong with your game in general.

yeah, other mods just work fine. For each mod I copy and paste the entire "clean" mtw2 folder. so it has its own game folder, therefor it can't be another mod interfering either...

The 0.7 version on which I pasted the 0.8beta worked fine, so I doubt it is that one. and I already downloaded and copied the 0.8 version twice..

And you used an unzipping program like 7zip or winRAR to unzip the 0.8 download? I'm starting to run out of ideas. I will see if I can do a secondary install of the mod in the course of the weekend to see if I run into anything that might help you. Hold fast until then .

    Hi,

Can Byzantine Empire recruit generals like other factions?

I mean, all european factions can recruit in settlements general bodyguard units, which gives us a specific character on gamemap.

I haven't seen such option for Byzantium.

I haven't played the Campaign as Byzantium but I just checked the Buildings Browser and it seems none of the buildings that could potentially be built by the Byzantines offer recruitment for their Bodyguard unit.
However, I have no idea if something changes this later on in the game or not so perhaps somone else of the team can get back to you!

    @Rexmundi

I have just done another installation of the mod. I downloaded the 0.7 .exe and 0.8, both from the filefront (gamefront) upload. Installed 0.7, unzipped the 0.8 folder and placed the files in the mod's data folder, overwriting whenever requested. Tried a campaign for Lower Lorraine, Al-Maribitun and the Cumans. No bugs or crashes whatsoever and didn't need a fix of any kind. Can't help you any further I'm afraid

    Freiburg? nicht eher baden-baden?

Doesen't matter any Baden faction is good

Karlsruhe is way to young for this game but still the best city

For the 0.7 download, Part 2 of the multi-part download says File not Found.

Seems the file is missing indeed. I will contact the uploader. Thanks for the heads-up .
Can you download the gamefront .exe instead?

hey Folks! I downloaded the mod and 0.7 works properly. When I copy-pasted the 0.8 files to the data folder and overwrote all the old files, still (when I hit the desktop symbol) 0.7 starts. What did I do wrong?

The splash screen is the same; it'll look like 0.7 starts but it's highly probable 0.8 - try and launch the campaign; you'll see.

Hi guys, I would like to know if I have to download and use 0.7 fixes as well in order to play 0.8 version or just instaling 0.7 without fixes and then uzipping the 0.8 files over it. Beside this are there any fixes to 0.8 I should dowload and use?
