    Okay, so I got my PC back, have redone everthing and I am still having the same problem
    So for anyone who helps me, the problem again is that when I select a faction to play with, and click start campaign, it sends me back to the menu with 'Grand Campaign'

    Here are the log files


    Edit: Thought adding a 'please help me, I appreciate the help' might speed up the process

    I seem to be having a similar problem. .7 installs and loads up fine and is playable. But when I paste the .8 files into the .7 data folder, I get a CTD a few seconds into the loading screen. Ive tried to reapply the patch several times and made sure my Kingdoms was updated. I did some reading and saw suggestions to fix the "nothern obotrite captain" file, but that does not seem to work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    maybe the 0.8 file is corrupte

    redownload again

    Quick question, if I copied the 0.8 files into the 0.7 files. Should it show version 0.8 or version 0.7? Or is it just a data change and the title is just there?

    title shows 0.7 even with 0.8 --- the startup screen was not updated!

    Ugh... as soon as start the my Austrian conquest, I see that my great nation was reduce by two cities. And when playing the campaign; all the icons in the campaign are all messed up and when I leave it give the "unexpected error".

    Replaced the data content of 0.7 with the 0.8 beta. Everything looks good, but when I try to start a campaign, the game shuts down, but no warning/error, nothing.

    Did you replace it? You should rather copy the 0.8 stuff into 0.7, overwriting where necessary. 0.8 doesn't contain everything the mod needs to run, so you have to keep 0.7 and just update it.

    For anyone who has problems just get the program "winmerge." It is free and it analyzes files for any differences then gives you the option to move the individual files where there is no continuity over to the other file. All that you have to do is have it analyze the entire data folder for .07 and .08 simultaneously. Move anything that is not in .07 but is in .08 over to .07 and wallah, new beta works perfectly. Depending on your computer it should take anywhere from 5 min to 20 minutes to do just based on how quickly your comp works, (it has to compare about 8000 different files). One last thing to add, you must tell it to analyze all sub-folders simply for convenience. It worked for both me and my brother on the first attempt, so no one should have any difficulty doing this, if you knew how computer inept I was then you would understand why I expect that if I can do this than anyone can

    Does it matter if you are running Windows 7 or not?Downloaded it again and it is still not working properly ( CTD when trying to start up the game)Don't know if those 'Compatability files' are the problemThanks for any help

    Hi, I'm afraid that I also have a problem with Windows Seven. I downloaded the package of Version 8 for twice, the first time it all came about on a regular and the second time that I downloaded the zipped file to me the Mod crashes at startup.
    What could it be?
    Thank you in advance for the help.

    PS: The mod is great and is set in one of the best periods in history!

    hello, nice mod. question: is there any particular reason the unit names and faction names are not in English? I assume most people playing this mod speak English as their first language. It's a bit annoying that I have to write out translations for myself because I cant remember which faction ceske knizectvi or hayderich bayern is, for example.

    Thats intended, it adds a sense (or at least a better sense) of realism to it, although I must agree that for the first 10 turns I was able to use it for, it was mightily difficult to remember faction names

    However over time you'll get used to it I'm sure



    I can't understand what I'm doing wrong with my installation though

    I think the realism is fine if you call the factions Bohemia and Bavaria, I don't feel the need to pretend like I'm some...latin...speaking...guy.

    oh well, fun mod any way
