Personally, I want to know what every TW gamer thinks on the diversity of religion in Empire. Vote once and talk a lot.
The number of religions is fine as it is.
Include every faith from the era.
Streamline faiths into the following: Catholicism, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Lutheranism, Anglicanism, Calvinism, Baptist, Sunni, Twelver Shi'a, Nizari Ismaili Shi'a, Zaidi Shi'a, Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist, Jain, Sikh, Zoroastrian, Animist

Any increase in amount of religions would call for increasingly advanced and dynamic coding, on the issue of how the religions affect gameplay. I do not see it as important an issue in ETW as bloodlines, however - not by far.

To be honest, I'm glad that religeon isn't such a focus in the game as it was with Medieval. I'm pretty content the way things are.

Maybe a one or two more, but it seems that religion should play a slightly bigger role in diplomacy...At least earlier in the game where a Catholic nation like Austria would never be seen in league with the Protestant Prussians.

Yeah, it's a little much. But diversiving the a little more would be nice. Divide Protestantism between Calvinist&Lutheran, as they sided together on many things, and influenced each other, and Anglicanism. The Anglican church is very similar to the Catholic church as there were few theological differences in the split- just a divorce.Originally Posted by TheAussieDigger

For example, most of Scottish Protestants were Calvinists called Presbyterians. Lots of conflicts between loyal Catholic Scots, Presbyterian Scots, and Anglican English.
Maybe a split between Sunni and Shi'ite Islam, but thats not too important. Maybe the Jewish faith should be represented, but they will disappear in a few turns with the conversion rates of many countries. And a small population of Jews lived in Palestine in the time, as they were still scattered by the Great Diaspora in Roman times.
Another thing I think are the appearance of many minor nations, which is very hard to trigger.

Huguenots were just French Calvinists. Under what I said they would be in "Calvinists and Lutherans".
