    Default The Book of Eli

    Just saw this movie today.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1037705/

Stars Denzel Washington in Post-Apocalyptic America.

Don't want to give up too much of the plot, as that what made this movie really good for me.

What did you guys think about it.

Please use spoilers, as I've had a few movies ruined by people who just post big plot twists and the like without care for those who haven't seen the movie, and I'd hate for that to happen to others.

The movie was alright. The movie missed out on making some deeper statements about the plot and premise of the movie.

I always enjoy your criticisms of films, they're usually damned good, so please elaborate a bit....

Without spoilers? This is generally considered impossible.

What does Eddie Izzard have to do with the book of Eli?
Is he in it? That might make me go see it.

Second that ,although it might have been cooler to have seen a new actor in such a film. Something refreshing for a really creative film. I really loved it how there were references to the past but you have to make the links ; i found it a very good film. It may become one of the best of 2010.
Also the soundtrack was ghastly and appropriate to the setting ,it still sends shivers down my spine when i hear it on youtube.

In the end , i found the whole history plausible which makes it even more terrifying.

Watched the movie a week ago and wasn't impressed. It had overly-choreographed and stylised unconvincing fight scenes, some miscasting (Mila Kunis to be precise) and a rather curious plot. The twist was interesting but was overdone and needed editing.

In all it reminded me of Fallout 3 (I think the writer was actually a PC Gamer editor at some point), especially the overall aesthetic. One funny thing as well- near the end I muttered 'All that needs to happen now is Malcolm McDowell to turn up' at which point Malcolm McDowell duly turned up!

    4/10.
