    I was a huge fan of E:TW leading up to it's release. I had followed it since announcement. I played it for like 8 hours a day for 1 week and slowly declined in playing time. Then I realized I really didn't like it because it was extremely unfinished and didn't feel like a total war game.

    Then they announced N:TW and I raged. How could they do this? Why isn't it an expansion?

    I read the confirmed info thread and I just don't get it.

    Are they abandoning E:TW? Will N:TW have any link with E:TW? Someone explain why they made this and why it should be justified as a new game.

    No more patches for etw

    NTW is a "new" game that looks exactly like etw and none of its fixes will roll back to fix etw.

    CA don't give a rats ass about etw or their fans in the last bit and have decided its just not worth fixing and their parent company is trying to dog itself out of an incompetence induced hole of debt so they need to crank out another mess of shovelware quick.

    Pretty much this. CA selling it's soul to SEGA was a bad move for the consumer and fan of the TW series. Look up incompetence in the dictionary, and you'll see SEGA's logo.

    E:TW has been abandoned correct. N:TW was originally supposed to be an expansion but they decided to make it a standalone so that they can milk more bucks out of us.
