I'm a 2D artist, not the best you'll ever see. But I know quite a few tricks![]()
PM me if you need me
"Nothing is true, everything is permitted."
@La-De-blahblah-Old-Bean: actually they're not in my team but they've granted me the rights to use their mods, so practically that's the same thing.
@killerrabbit: thanks for offer, I consider you. Though I've asked some other persons to that job but it's possible that they're too busy.

There are so many mods exactly like this one (just to mention SS Battle for Baltic or Lithuania Mod based on DlV), so why do we need another one?
because modders make mods to suit thier "personal vision" if you like it and play great! if not oh well the motivation is not to cater to the masses of mtw2 junkies but express our own perspective! if everyone could mod we would see a thousand mods on say teutonic or crusades
every player has thier own unique take on the gameand it only supports how good the original game is, the more different mods there are!

Why do we need so many mods for basic M2TW?
Because each of them is different. That's the key word.
This mod will be a major mod while Battle for the Baltic is a mini-mod and compatible with SS only.
I haven't got familiar with Lithuania Mod because its creators haven't released any thread including the changelog.
If we sticked to the existence of almost similar mods no one wouldn't be modding anymore. Practically all possible modding ideas have been used already.

Sorry, but why? I mean we all ready have battle for the Baltic AND the awesome Baltic Crusades mod. Why a third? There's plenty of other good ideas for mods that haven't been done. Why not do something original.
The other two mods are excellent quality ones, you'll have trouble creating anything better.
I don't like to sound mean. Good luck though!

I am with Da Goofy!
so what! if there are good mods of it! who`s to say yours won`t be as good! no one has done a real complete overhaul of it new ui, new music faction symbols everything! that would be original!
VR is totally right though if you cannot really make it unique and different but I know you can!![]()
So install SS first. Hardly a big deal.
Lithuania Mod team has done most of this. Not to mention new historical rosters.
Silesian Noble makes a good point. Why not focus on the Teutonic Order since that is your mods name. You can represent Livonian Sword Order and Dobrzyn Order as separate playable factions. Also the developers of Lithuania mod may let you use some of their work on unit rosters. Including lesser known factions would make this mod far more unique. Also, wasn't Poland separated into different kingdoms at this team Silesian? That would be interesting to show!![]()
You're obviously not familiar with the procedure.
Thus I will enlighten you.
Start with Stainless Steel 6 which is divided in two files.
Proceed with 6.1
Install SS:Total Combat 1.2 (1.0, 1.2 and the hotfix), meaning three files.
Then we can continue with Battle for Baltic.
Personally I think it requires too many different files (and they're big in size), would be better if it were standalone.

They often differ in details only. And perhaps this is why only few gained popularity.
This is a technical detail of low importance. What important is the gameplay and uniquness.
They made some solid work plus recaintly enlarged the team which brings some good perspective for future.
Oh no, I absolutely can't agree with that. I'll give you some ideas: Hussites Wars (XVc mod), Polabian Wars (IX-XIIc mod), Babenberg Conflict (XIIIc) are three of them localised in central Europe. Also many mods that were founded finally collapsed so the ideas are still ready to cover (for example Tsardsoms, Caucasia, Black Sea TW, Livonia TW, Scandinavia of Absinthia etc).
The Teutonic wars is probabaly already the most exploited idea among M2:TW modifications.
Yes, there is always something you can do better or follow other way in general. But when I read Teuton: TW change log I can see two things: tweaks, tweaks and tweaks, plus elements borowed from mod X, other from mod Y, another from mod Z etc. I can see nothing original here. You have named the mod Teuton: TW, so the Teutonic faction is if I understand correctly most important for this project. Have you then considered showing Teutons in the Holy Land or in Transylvania, where they had its home before coming to Prussia? No. Have you considered showing Livonian Sword Order or Dobrzyn Order as a separate factions allied with Teutons? No. Have you thought of making completely new and historical Teutonic roster? No. I think the answers are no becouse we can't read such targets in the mods concepts in the first post. And finaly the mod's logo - bah the most unhistorical vanilla teutonic unit will be the mod's card... This is why I'm so sceptical about this project.

Thanks Ochiee. I hope I get it finished some day.
Currently I'm editing export_descr_unit and adding new units from King Kong's Stainless Steel 6.1.
I did a bit of work on a kind of template/logo.
I still need to find a good background though...
"Nothing is true, everything is permitted."
Text is enough (but it has to look nice like in the example picture or to be of "Lord of the Rings-style"). But if you have already done something else than the text, then finish it.
But my wish is to have only text, so that that Teuton: Total War text up in the thread could be replaced by it.
Then I would copy-paste it to our loading screens and perhaps main menu.
Thanks, killerrabbit, for your effort with this mod. I'll add you to the "Credits" part of the thread if/once you finish the picture.
M2TW has given attributed Norway the colours red, white and blue, which is a 19th century invention.
the Norwegian royal coat of arms is supposedly the oldest one still in use, its colors is basically yellow/orange on red.
i have re-colored the Norse textures accordingly. while i lay no claim to more historical accuracy i consider them slightly more historically relevant...
you may use them if you like.
