When you've got BI 1.6, you might as wel try Extended Realism. It's a more up-to-date version of Platinum, and there are still people working on it to make more improvements.

Here, try this tutorial: Adding a unit to BI - my 300 spartan unit

It's specific for BI, but you should be able to use it for normal RTW as well I guess

And, if you are finished with it, you should really try Fate of Empires. It's our latest release, with fantastic new innovations, and imo currently the leader of a new generation of RTW mods

its very small and easy to install

This is a recoloured hypaspist ported from the Alexander add-on, complete with unit cards. The readme isn't so much a readme as just showing where the blocks of text go. Anyone can download it but if you haven't installed a unit before you may struggle.

very good mod 5, its working perfect,, it even better if the robe is red, instead faded red...

ill use it as reference to make my mode..., any body able to combine Alex BI and RTW into one mod....

i am trying to figure it to combine all the mod into a single game...
