Blasphemer! Bring the torches, pickforks, clubs, tars, feathers...
I don't know if they shouldn't leave BSG as it is. I really find the whole milking a franchise to death strategy a bit annoying. Sadly it works so from an economic point of view there is no reason to change it... I just think BSG was in itself a well concluded story arc. No need to go into details.
"Sebaceans once had a god called Djancaz-Bru. Six worlds prayed to her. They built her temples, conquered planets. And yet one day she rose up and destroyed all six worlds. And when the last warrior was dying, he said, 'We gave you everything, why did you destroy us?' And she looked down upon him and she whispered, 'Because I can.' "

So was BSG most of the time. One reason I hated it. Was good early on, then in between it was awful but for a few episodes, then the last episodes became good again when they decided to stop spamming fill in episodes and focused back on Story, god it was worse than a HYPED up Popular anime which sometimes gets double the fill in episodes than pure story episodes, BSG felt like a majority of it was Filler in episodes with no real point but to give you maybe 1 minute of story and spred it across a lot more episodes so they could sell it on DVD for more money, it was pointless, after it's originally success they had to make so many pointless episodes one reason why Success can kill TV shows definity ones with a serious story to it like BSG.

The pilot was not bad. It details the creation of the Cylons and why they have this belief in the one true God. It is a melange of greed, paranoia, power, religion and broken hearts that brings about the Cylons.
Well you won't get them in this series. Honestly I only saw the pilot. I was surprised it showed straight up nudity (strippers breasts and such quite alarming haha), but I couldn't get into it. It just didn't feel sci-fi to me, more like a drama set in the future that was more or less uninteresting to me.
That was the point of the producers, i liked BSG, other then its pretty pew pew action, was for its dark plot and grittiness.
The colonials had it all, technology and whatnot, nothing was going to stop them,, and i like to see that dream shattered as the Cylons rise up and go SORRY BUD, and bam.

Yeah I know it was, but this doesn't have the battle scenes or anything. It's all the drama without any of the action which I'm not down for, and so far the characters are less interesting. Like little girls? Really, cmon wtf? Where's my Apollo, Starbuck, Helo, etc? I would've preferred a prequel story about the First Cylon war. Much better idea there.
Sort of. I mean you can have larger battles, more stuff on the ground, different plotlines. I mean it's not a ragtag fleet fleeing from a huge Cylon force. It's two big forces clashing head to head in a big cool sci-fi space war. I mean, I personally am just bored by Caprica. At least the Pilot.
It's more dystopic scifi(and not even pure there) than it is space opera scifi. The type of scifi they're doing is more focused on drama than anything. They set it up well for what they wanted to do, but if you want something like bsg, this ain't the show to watch. ^_^

One thing is for certain: the more profoundly baffled you have been in your life, the more open your mind becomes to new ideas.

Let's think the unthinkable, let's do the undoable. Let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all.
I love BSG, not too sure about Caprica, but I'm going to watch it unless I become totally bored.

I just watched the first two episodes and they're absolutely amazing.
Great cast, amazing dialogue and good special effects, but most importantly: profound.
Most people won't like it, but most people are stupid.![]()
Well, I saw the pilot back when it was released on DVD quite some time ago, but I tried watching the second episode a few days ago and have to say that I simply couldn't get into it. I guess I'm more of a straight up 'in space' type of Sci-Fi fan, rather than this style. I absolutely loved Battlestar Galactica, even though it did indeed have some soap opera moments, but I kinda get the feeling that Caprica is going to be more soap opera than Sci-Fi, so I doubt I'll be watching this..
No worries though, there's still 'Lost'..![]()
I've watched the first few episodes now and my initial fears have been calmed. It has been better than I thought it would be
Sp anyone still following this show. Apparently it got cancelled but you can see the last episodes off of Space. I like it though. The plot sorta died about mid way through but I think its picking up now at the end.
Haven't really watched it since the mid-season break.
There's going to be another spin-off called Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome (three guesses where the idea of the name comes from) which is going to be about the actual Cylon War.
If you ever find violence doesn't solves anything, you haven't used enough.
