    Default Marian Reforms

Does any one know the *Exact* trigger requirements for the marian reforms?

I am playing greece and I had to wipe out the romans - but I left the Scip faction in the city of Capua.

That city currently has an imperial palace and no reforms have happened.

To test - I started a rome campain really fast and used cheats to create an imperial palace in capua as scip on the first turn. This triggered the reforms immediately.

So - year seems to have nothing to do with it - and Capua apparently is a city that can cause the trigger.

-- Apparently it seems that the greeks do not get new units because of the reforms - is that correct?

The trigger for the Marian reforms is either building an Imperial Palace in one of your cities (because it allows the recruitment of Praetorians who are a post-Marian unit) or building 5 army barracks in any 5 cities.

In Vanilla Rome, the Marian reforms are unique for Roman factions and only give them additional units; I'm not sure what Darth may have done with them but historically they revolutionised the Roman army, turning it into a more professional force with state-provided equipment.

It also has few minor changes on other factions, i only remember that it changes Egyptian Bodyguard from chariot to cavalry
