No More India and the Americas ???

I've just watched the second trailer from Napoleon: Total War and took a Screenshot of the Diplomacy map.

Judging the picture above

1) India was excluded from the Game ? Well, I guess the Maratha Conf. existed till 1820
2) Don't see any option to switch to the Americas.
3) Sweden was excluded from Major Nations Also, the Map is Really Eurocentric. Only small parts of Sweden and Norway appear. Strange thing is that Italy does not have territories. What about Papal States ?

I've my own thoughts, let's see what you guys think.

i asked the napolean guy on facebook Why the map is so small and he said

While the maps cover a smaller geographical area, they have been greatly expanded with more territories and offer just as much gameplay

They are actually focusing on Europe for this one...its not designed to be what Empire was, and I applaud their decision. Bigger isn't necessarily better.

Wow, the player already captured all of France and Iberia. Not a good sign for the AI challenge. Then again, it's most likely another real player who's letting him test out the gameplay rather than playing.

I think they're planning add a bit more of the Middle East in the full version, and there's been some talk of a War of 1812 expansion.

If N:TW's easy to mod and they didn't include the Americas and India, no doubt someone will mod it into the game anyway.

2 weeks per turn.

Game starts in 1805 and it's 1807.

If it's been running for 2 years then it's been 52 turns.

I should probably point out that good players do exist regardless of the AI.

ANyway, yes, no America or India, I applaude CA, good descicion, I never like playing in more then one continent.

Well, at least i don't have to worry about the Mughals or Marthas from the east killing everyone in the Middle east and Eastern Europe, or random parts of the new world

Give it a few months after release then DLC 1 will be a War of 1812 DLC which will open NA.

India would be nice but I don't think it has a large chance to get in as a DLC.

India was where Arthur Wellesley (Duke of Wellington) began to "make a name for himself", and it was the site of massive battles in this time (Anglo-Maratha Wars, etc.)

1812 I'm almost certain will be DLC sooner or later.

Nothing I hate more than this limited Linear type of gameplay. Every other TW had more to the map than this. The whole thing looks like an expansion turned into a standalone wannabe big boy.

I really look forward to hearing what people think when they`ve finally played it and I won`t be waiting for the knee-jerk excited comments. i`ll give it a week or two and see what the REAL consensus is. I already have a good idea what it will be,... Slightly better AI, better graphics, a few sounds here and there and the shortest TW standalone ever.

Well It is about Napoleon,so It make sense that USA is not in the game.

Its really about Napoleon life, rather then the Napoleonic Wars. Otherwise it might span right across to America, the Lousiana Purchase, 1812, etc...

I still think this will be the best TW ever, I like the idea of a smaller detailed map, and a shorter period, plus it is my favourite period.

Would be nice to see Whole America... but the game is only about Napoleonic wars so... i don´t think both India and America be present even in a DLC...
