Default SPQR AAR - Pax Romana

    - INTRODUCTION -

Hi guys, I have just to register here. I have been trying a lot of mods here like rome surrectum, RTR, bare bones... but when I began to play SPQR I thought this was a a ver wonderful mod, the best, no doubt.

So I am going to start an AAR, it will be some different that the typical AAR. I will only tell the relevant things like the economy, my war situation, what I am going to do including an excel database where you will watch it better.

My chapters will be released every 5 years (20 turns) and will contain:

    1- Data.
2- Screen about hows the empire.
3- Killsheet uploaded(it wont say what legions are winning or loosing, it will only tell a battle chronology along the years, the sides and what regon was it, for knowing what are the hot places).
4- What happened in these 5 years.
5- What I want to do for the next 5 years.

My dream is trying to get the target of the historical roman empire, I will try to be them ost historical possible, I will follow the most of the house rules. So I want to get a Pax Romana, and defend the roman empire until the last soldier if the things become dark.

    Difficulty:Normal for battles
    Normal for campaign
    Script loaded
    SPQR 7.0

I am not english, so trying to explain these things becames some tedius... ok see you guys in the first chapter.

    - CHAPTER 2 - Italy is Roman!! (210 bc)

Hello guys, here is my second chapter:

2- Roman republic and the world known.

    a) Sahara was conquered by Carthago
    b) Gauls are getting into Spain

3- It has happened a lot fo things in these 5 years.

In 215 I tried to defeat the carthaginean armies at the south of Italy, near Taras a got suffering important casualties. Here we can see how 1 legion damaged is helped for another one against Anibal:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

After it was an alone army between my 2 legions and Taras, and then I tried to close his retreat, knowing about the garrison script and the Gauls atacking me constantly in the north, I had to use only 1 legion for conquering Taras, because the other one had to help the 2 legions in the north:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Hte gauls at the north were sending full stacks every turn, it was amazing but some stressant:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I got a great battle for Genua, where 4 stacks and 1 garrison were in the battlefield. These are the data:

And some screens of these bloody battles agains the Gauls:

In the economic side, I have grown my income a lot, every city has a port, farms, ancient roads, markets, and some of them all the military buildings, only Capua for now can build Princips and Triari.

Finally I got the stablish the front on the north agaisnt the gauls, keeping 1 legion on the south:

4- My objectives for the next five years:

    a) Getting a new road the next step, at this moment I have the most ancient.
    b) Try to develop Italy and getting enough family member on the settlements. I want to expand my roman republic I need the family support!!!
    c) Trying to take Caralis and when I get the new docks building Tirremes for getting the supremacy in the Tirreno´s sea.
    d) Getting that at least 4 cities be able of recruiting princips and Triari.
    e) Building the next mine level in Reghium and Arretio. Its very important thanx that I will be able of building new legions.

Hehe, second battle against Gaul looks interesting. It's always unnerving to have AI in control of own troops, but it seems to have worked out
What was the results of that battle?
Otherwise, you seem to be off for a good start, Carthage is expelled and you can focus on the north and getting a stable ground for future expansion, good job!
Oh, and btw, please put spoiler tags around images so this thread won't become too heavy for the people with bad internet connections.

It looks just awesome. Keep it up, despite such AARs are always same since the beginning, your way of putting it up has something to it. Love it!

    - CHAPTER 3 - Death in the sea (205 bc)

    1- Data at 205 BC

2- The Roman Republic and the world known

    a) Gauls continue getting into Spain, taking the north of Iberia.
    b) Greece is taking his motherland defeating macedonians.
    c) Cartago is stronger in Africa taking the westeron of Libia

    3- what happened:

    ->Objectives Acomplished
    a) Getting a new road the next step, at this moment I have the most ancient.
    b) Try to develop Italy and getting enough family member on the settlements. I want to expand my roman republic I need the family support!!!
    d) Getting that at least 4 cities be able of recruiting princips and Triari.
    e) Building the next mine level in Reghium and Arretio. Its very important thanx that I will be able of building new legions.
    f) An kill more Gauls!!

    -> Objectives lost:
    c) Trying to take Caralis and when I get the new docks building Tirremes for getting the supremacy in the Tirreno´s sea.

In 209bc I got a north front stablished and hard, but it would be for a short time because gauls and more gauls were coming to take what was roman. Here we can find 6 stacks around my borders, thats why I called for a 4th legion to defend the road to arretio (its picked in the map)

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

And my western front was hardly atacked stack after another stacks...

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I got 2 years with a relative calm in the front, that was because I build some forts defending the main roads:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Here we can see how my legion, wich was enyoying the peace in the front, is woke up for a barbarian gauls, is leaving his fort:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The worst thing of all was loosing a full legion in the sea. It was atacked for some carthago ships, very experience., I had 6 tirremes sending the legion, I thought it was enough for a travel to caralis, but it was totally sunked, causing 3035 deads. (sorry i didnt get a screen)

Here some screenshots about my battles agaisnt the gauls:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    And my Legion system:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

This is the siituation at 205bc.

Northern front. I stablished a new way of defend the PO line of defense. It was very heavy getting the army out of the fort everytime, The new way consists on getting a garrisons recruited from the same region where his fort is deployed. His objective isnt stopping the gauls on the bridge before the passing the river, its only watch the army coming and then calling to the nearest legion for defending the fort and the road. Those garrison are 2 Town milia and 1 velite, you can see how many the are in the Data.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Souther front: I am getting ready some legions for invading Scily, I thought it was better starting there where the drop is safe, and dont maka a long way from Italy to Caralis.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

In the economic side, I got a new road pavimented infrastructure, some cities hava dockyards, I uped the level of the mines.

4- My objectives for the next five years:

    a) Trying to take what I be able of Scily.
    b) Continue expanding my income, theres a lot to do yet.
    c) upgrade the garrison´s borders, it was done very quickly cause of the unstopped arrival of gauls armies.
    d) Getting a competent navy.
    e) dont get new mistakes as in the sea

I was going to up my fourth chapter today, but it will be some impossible, you will see they have been great years for Rome, but I would like to do an ask.

Is it normal that I have killed 130,000 enemies (100,000 gauls), and I am in 201bc, so 14 years since the beggining?

Its becoming interesting anyway the gauls are stronger now, half of the army are chose swordsmen. Its harder now.

Depends and I might have missed it, do you play with garrison script? I personally took down over half million Gauls before destroying them. Once you take few settlements, they will begin to diminish in numbers. And yes, furthermore into campaign, their armies get better and stronger.

Doesn't seem abnormal. In my previous campaign (7.0 without the unit addon), I had 124k kills and 22k losses at the end of 201BC.
Keep up the good work, doing nice

Our kills number are ver, very similar, I got at 200bc 126k kills and 24k losses. I have in my mind the legion that was sunked in the sea, 1 full legion omg...

Thanx everybody for following this campaign. It makes me feel more exciting, because this data is some hard to take sometimes. But I love taking it, I want to know what will be my population in 160bc for exemple, or hows my economy growing, and the most bloody ages.

My dream on this campaign is restablish the Roman Empire how it was historically. And my forts system has his origins in the Late Roman Empire, after the Constantino the Great reforms who stablished some ground force in the empire borders called limitanei. These limitanei were soldiers from the same region that where was his defense place.

So if sometime I get the Roman empire how it was, I would liketo expand this kind of defense alongt the roman borders using axiliary troops. It would be very nice see how some auxiliary troops defends a border in Syria, waiting the legion arrives for helping them, but this legion isnt able for stopping them, what to do?? the roman legions can be only trained near Italy, and a travel from Italy to Sirya takes 10 turns. That makes you think. So the maker of this mod was right when stablished the recruiting system.

Anyway I wont build more than 28 legions if I get this dream or if the CTD respects me, so it will be a challenge.
