what colours will you paint your units

So we know there is a uniform edtor in ntw so you can have custom army colours in multi. What colors will you paint your troops?

for me:

Line inf: black jackets, red/white pants, gold/grey facings
Rifles: Green jackets darker green pants brown boots
melee: Yellow and black/red
Cavalry:Same as line but lighter colors
General: Gold all over with red facings. Bodyguard will be silver.
Artillery: White
Armed Citizenry: Brown
Millita: Grey
Elites: royal purple, white and gold

how will it work? i really have no idea

Well one thing is for sure. You won't be able to dress them up like the Orcs in Lord Of The Rings.

I will color all my units that of the Lutzow Freikorps, Red, Black and Gold.

I remember to all of you that we are not going to have the uniform editor before several months...And, it's true, we have no idea how it could work and what it could change.

I'm hoping it is more then colors we can modify

Can you show us the source for this? I hope not this will be another "Multiplayer campaign beta" as for Empire.

The unit editor comes out after the initial release? Im getting deja-vu, hopefully it will be out very soon just like the multiplayer cam.........

If there is one, you wont be able to change the whole uniform colour, like you want to. So France will have to keep blue as their main uniform colour, Britain red, and so forth.

More likely, you will be able to edit the colour of the units facings and colours, and only from a limited selection at that.

This is a good thing, as we cant have French line infantry running around wearing orange coats with pink facings, yellow shakos and green packs, could you?

Well actually that is just a game mechanic thing. Historically there were a whole variety of different uniform colors. Modders have been hard at work with this and I think CA realizes it. Not to mention a lot of CA's units do not have the standard colors of a nation in ETW. Lee's Legion comes to mind, or Rangers, or Brunswick Dragoons.. hell come to think of it most of the units from the newest DLC (Units of America) are not standard colors.. not a trace.

There are quite a few in the vanilla version of ETW too but they don't come to mind. In conclusion, I don't think we'll have that restriction.

In multi i don't think that matters. I cant see why they wouldn't allow you to change whatever. the people who want historical accurate colors for mp armies can just change a few things.

Also lusted said its on a per unit basis. So you could maybe have your vets a different color.

each unit will represent a color of the rainbow.

Well i am sure you know there are sites on the net showing different uniforms of different nations and I hope the are done like the original uniforms of that day here is pictures of the french headgear and so forth.

I thought we could create units from scratch choosing from jackets, pants, hats etc already in the game :/ and in this way create our own unique units like a real emperor would be able to. Some dude told me it would be like this :/ ... not only some colors..

The unit editor may not be released at the same time as Napoleon, I beleive it was said in an interview with kieren at NZgamer.
