I purchased a copy of 'The Mamoth Book Of Soldiers at War'. No pictures, 496 pages.
It contains 15 first hand accounts from the age of Napoleonic warfare. Starting from Italy 1800, then Egypt, through to Waterloo. All accounts are from English or French men, one account is an American from the 1812 debackle. An interesting read for those who may be interested.

"100 days" was good as well, it's about Napoleon leaving Elba up to his final wretched days, with "flashbacks" to his entire career and talks about all the players of that era. I pretty much devoured it in one day, and it's no small book. Can't go wrong for 99 cents.

Jesus some of those copies of the book you recommended are expensive for "like new" condition. It makes the lower priced ones seem suspicious, I'm gonna take a chance on the one that is a penny and hope for the best, thanks for the recommendation.

If the 100 days book is the one I think it is, it's written from the perspective of 3 persons, and keeps jumping between them, is this correct? If so I have read it, and thought it well written, but there's something special about accounts from people who actually lived it that no part fiction book can duplicate, even though at times they can be an easier read.
I bought the book for 1p, and paid £2.75 postage, I seem to make alot of buys like this, companies make a profit from the postage and deal in high turnover. Go for someone with good feedback and you can't go wrong.
