    Default Unique culture for Rhun

Rhun is based on the mongols so basically they could do with different buildings/music/voices... atm they are identical to Harad a middle-eastern style faction which seems kind of wrong.

I would certainly back this idea up. (The culture limit isn`t reached yet, is it?)

But i woulnd`t say that they are based solely on the mongols.. They are more like an mixture of different eastern cultures.

    Right now we have:
    • northmen
    • gondor
    • elves
    • mordor/isengard/orcs
    • harad&rhun
    • dwarves
    • rebel/heretics?
So with a max of 7 cultures, it might not be possible.

Maybe the seventh culture is for Eriador.

this is a hard choice, the people from rhun have many diferent cultures, from mongol, to persian and indian culture, they quite a mix, the various kingdoms, clans and nation arent just factions, they are also diferent cultures, the lands of the easterlings are like a second middle earth as we know it

No, I believe they are part of the northmen culture.

The overbearing culture that you get from their armies is far eastern... family member portraits, apart from borthand and a few generals in the unique armour, all appear to be lifted from Harad. They do need an overhaul in my opinion... maybe not a dominant mongolian feel but enough to distinguish between them and Harad

And I believe that this is indeed hard coded and so not possible its a shame indeed.

Rebels have their own culture? I think rebels have one of the other cultures, depending on where they are. And actually heretics is a religion.

As far as I know, the cultures are:

    • northern_european (for northmen)
    • southern_european (for Dwarves)
    • gondor
    • greek (for elves)
    • eastern_european (for orcish factions)
    • middle_eastern (for Rhun/Harad)
So we have 6 cultures (although in RC/RR the mesoamerican has been added, to represent the Ents).

Yes I can confirm this (+rep) . The rebel/slave faction are part of the northern_european culture, just like Rohan, Eriador and Dale. So theoretically there is one culture-slot left to use.....

Is it possible that Rhun generals could have Mongolian type of voices? They would sound much cooler(personal opinion), more fitting to their culture.

vaz alot of their units/descriptions suggest a far eastern nomadic culture. Plus their battle flags have a chinese style dragon... also a good chunk of their units look and dress in a far eastern style.

Such as? Heavy Plate Armoured Units? CHINESE Dragons? None of that is mongolian.

Variags are nomadic. Hence, their units represented as such. Balchoth units are from Rhovanion ish area. Which leaves Plate Armoured units and tribesmen as "nomads" - Plate Armour is a nono for constant movement, and tribesman does not inherently mean "nomad".

Apart from balcoth tribesmen and the kataphracts most of the units have a nomadic asian feel to them. Then there are the elite infantry, like the kataphracts armoured in plate so not sure what to make of those either. Basically my argument is that Rhun should not share the same music/voices and perhaps buildings (or in the least should get a few unique ones) as Harad. They need a different culture... and as there is one slot left...
