Swiss units?

Are there going to be any Swiss units in the game?

im not sure if Switzerland is a playable nation or not actually, will take a look. Im sure that if they are, it will be mentioned here on the forum.

If there are no Swiss units then they may as well forget the Scots for Britain as well...

Many Scots fought for the English and were among our best soldiers...

Same goes for the Swiss and France...

we already know that there are scots... Look to the video, we see highlanders when there is the fight in desert. (look at all the units cards)

yes the Swiss and the Scots were much appreciated in many European states as mercenaries. As long as they were paid on time.

This could be interesting. Thew Swiss in Napoleon's service wore red coats (despite the fact the British did). This brings me to wonder if uniforms will be accurate.

For example (at the risk of being very boring) Italians in French service wore the same basic French uniform - but in Green. There was even a Swiss unit in yellow and even an Irish (ref the Irish post) regiment in the French army.

As you are correct about the Italians and green uniforms they actually changed to white uniforms in 1808 or 09 with green lapels and cuffs but still a decent fighting force with a good majority of French in the army.

Also the Swiss were told in battle to wear their greatcoats when fighting against the British as not to be shot by their own side. Sadly they didn't listen or some other German speaking nation with Red uniforms didnt listen and were shot up by the French mistaking them for British. The Irish legion has a nice green and yellow uniform which is very nice looking. I can't remember the marshal but he commented if he could give the Swiss two muskets he would as they were good shots and loaded fast.

It would be really nice to have Swiss Units in here... or even a Swiss Country...

it would need to be a neutral faction

I think there will be some Swiss units, but maybe just 1 regiment...

The Swiss ARe in from what I know, as a puppet of France

I'm quite sure the Swiss Confederate can be formed/liberated in the game, I read it somewhere (couldn't find it again, though)

Actually no it's the belgian flag

I will form my homecountry a little earlier than historically true, but that's what games are for

Indeed they are, they were historically formed in 1830 so they're not that far off
