The One Child policy messed up the gender balance. Something had to give and while it is sickening that this is happening, what could you really expect?

It would be nice to have the Chinese govt. do something about horror stories like these
A study of Burmese women sold into forced marriages in China found 25 per cent of victims were 18 or under, with some as young as 14. Ten per cent of victims were married and had come to China to seek work to support husbands and children. Horror stories abound. A woman who was five months pregnant was forced to have an abortion then sold for marriage; another woman was made to give up her two-month-old daughter who was sold for 5,000 yuan (£450).

for such a large country, crimes at this scale are quite normal unfortunately, especially human trafficking due to the total backfiring of one child policy. I am glad they are revising it now and changing it to two child policy, which should help to resolve the problem a bit over the next decade or two.

Heard similar stuff is happening in the Japanese and South-Korean setting with the women coming from the same places.

There it supposedly had all to do with Jap/Kor women being "too western and demanding", keeping lots of blokes lonely or whatever.

There should defiantly be more attention from authorities to keep it all legal.

na, those are because japanese and korean women are too rich to be prostitute, so crime orgs had to settle for sex slaves from poor countries in south-east asia., kinda like how eastern european women end up so frequently in sex-trade in western europe.

    damn you modern world!!!

"In South Korea, men now outnumber women, who often postpone marriage to pursue careers. The trend is most pronounced in less prosperous rural towns that have seen women leave for big cities. The women have been replaced as marriage partners by brides from developing countries."

it is quiet common for people in Taiwan to marry Chinese / Vietnam women too (and occasionally some other SE Asians countries, but those two are most common due to being the most similar race wise) . the method of which they come are often quesitonable, and the laws binding them (espiecially for the Chinese brides) are often borderline unconstitutional.
1180, an unprecedented period of peace and prosperity in East Asia, it's technology and wealth is the envy of the world. But soon conflict will engulf the entire region with great consequences and lasting effects for centuries to come, not just for this region, but the entire known world, when one man, one people, unites.....
