    Default Troop Strength

    Hello new to this forum.

I saw a RTW image that showed at least 20+ cohorts on each side and their strength in numbers looked more than the average 120 or so.

Is this possible? Can I actually change the ammount of troops per/cohort number.

I know realisticaly a legion had somewhere around 3-5000 men. but in the game a "Legion" if you will has roughly 1200-1500 I think

Just asking as this forum looks pretty experienced, and I just bought the game.

Max number of units is 20 in one army. Can you show what screenshot you saw?

Max number of men in one unit is 240 + 3 officers. You can change unit size in options but if you want to have more than 160 or 200 men then you need to mod the game yourself. There is good information in mod workshop.

if you play on huge unit scale you should be able to make it to 4800 if you just spam first cohorts. why would you want that many men anyway? normal scale is much easier to oversee. your choice..

I was going to try and replicate actual Legion strength size. But yeah without mods that would be impossible. RTW's normal Legion strength of 20 cohorts is fine. However if you play multi-player does every player get to use 20 Cohorts, or 20 different units?

In the multiplayer taking twenty infantry units is suicide on the rules and money used by the majority of the community. Don't make yourself a free kill please. Use a balanced force of heavy cav, light cav, archers, long range archers, horse archers, heavy inf and light inf Or you are as good as dead before deployment starts.
