I remember he was mentioned by Gandalf as having been someone he had to go after at some point. Since Tolkien pre dates D&D I don't know how much pop gaming culture's understanding of necromancers applies. Does ny of it?

Any lore buffs know a lot of this character? What region did he inhabit? Was he just from Dul Guldor? Could he be played into the mod? Did his character actually raise the dead?

We had a huge debate about raising the dead. I personaly think that given the chance Sauron would use if full powers to raise an army of the dead, but this is a matter of personal opinion.
