Seriously, thanks for the offer. I'm sending this to you because it looks like, on the other persons bio, that you're taking apps now? Not sure, but if you're not it can you forward this onto the right person? Thanks.
Project info is in this thread.
Background: I've played RS quite a bit, mostly in my spare time and over the summer. I'm not full-blown history buff but I enjoy the historic quality of the game. RS is the only reason I play RTW - I tried a couple of times to get into the vanilla game but it was just blah.
I play several other RPGs when I have time. DAO (Dragon Age Origins), Oblivion, things like that. Two years ago I worked on a very, very large mod project for Oblivion and understand working with groups, need for secrecy, that stuff. Of course, I said I'd never do it again (met some very rude people - not on the project, just on the forums) and yet here I am.
Can I take a screenshot? I can take a screenshot, save it to the desktop of my MacBook Pro, edit it with Photoshop CS4, create a vector image with Illustrator CS4, and publish it to the internet using Flash, Dreamweaver and InDesign.
Sorry. As the thread indicates, there are elements to RSII that would help my project, including references in that thread by the mod creators that RSII is more realistic. That said, I'm willing to use 1.6, but Apple and others suggested I become a beta tester so I could have access to RSII. My answer on the thread is self-explanatory and I do appreciate the suggestion.
I need to get started on this ASAP, meaning by next Friday. The project requires that I submit weekly chapters to my advisor. I'm willing to share those chapters with a designated member of the team (I don't know if they'd be helpful or not). I hope that would be enough; not sure how much more I can give than that, as I'm taking 16 hours.
What I would need is for Rome (the faction) to be working enough so that I can both play and take screenshots. I would be following a semi-historic pattern of growth, so the game would have to be functional in that respect. And I wouldn't be able to update the game until the project was completed (around late July or August) unless the update was save-game compatible.
Not sure what else I should say. Can I read an error message? Yeah, I can read one - not always sure what the numbers mean but I can read them.
Thanks for your consideration. Danni
Oh, by the by, if you do want me to submit my weekly chapters, I'm okay with that, but please don't release my personal information (name, etc.) onto the forums on the internet. I've had a bad experience with that a year ago. Thanks.
