What can we determine from the new video of NTW

Thats the new video, most of us have seen it, but what can we determine from it, well i have taken slices from it to for this presentation:


Here we can see the new particle system in effect, with big chuncks off the earth being ripped up, taking out trrops along with it.



Here we have the symbol that the armies flag flashes when it is being effected by attrition.



Here we have proof that NTW will include French units with Bicornes.


Here we have the diplomacy panel, showing the major nations, (maybe, if all reviews are wrong, and CA have been lying, there will be 7 playable nations.) and the campaign map, which isn't as detailed as one would hope, but still acceptable.




Here is the diplomacy area, showing historical pictures of monarchs, and the numerous diplomacy options.


And I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of French soldier that is, as far as i can tell, they kind of look like the Young Guard or Marie-Lousie Regiment. They have the distinctive tall Red plume. (or just CA's version of the 1812 Line Grenadiers)

sorry to disapoint you the mughal empire was a major nation and not playable, but i just noticed something with the santisima, it had a french flagmaybe it was captured or you can build it if you are allied with spain or control certain regions

the mughal empire was planned as being playable and as a result has a campaign description, victory conditions, victory and loss videos and special units. they just never bothered to take it out of the major faction list

this means possibly that spain and the ottomans WERE planned as being playable, or that they will be

Seeing as Trafalgar is a playable historical scenario, it will probably form part of the french fleet.

Actually, CA have always made TW games to be a kind of portal into the past. Only now have they given it all up for the `casual gamer` who couldn`t care less if men used laser rifles and sprouted jet packs to fly over walls. ETW and NTW now have nothing to do with the 18th century except in how it looks- pointless.

Ottomans have been annouced as playable, Spain is a mystery, hopefully they'll be like the Mughlas and only a freaky boolean will make them playable.

hmm you sure of this?

i mean would it make sense to play as ottomans with more than half of the empire is not present on map

Yep, it's official.

Lusted said that the pic with Santissima was just an ad. In the real game it will only be available to Spain.

Agreed about the hist acc. Definitely the best Tw in this aspect.

Although i said this for empire to....

An waited 6 month for a fix.....

why dont they make the 7 major nations playable for ****'s sake - they know the modders will unlock them all anyway... i mean 7 nations with historically accurate regions and units isnt much to ask is it?

I noticed that the Russians (The one time they appeared) were wearing the 1812 model shakos with the concave tops. Hopefully, if there are multiple eras for the French, the Russians will get their own old style uniforms too.

YuSSS! Bicornes!

Provincial borders are quite... bad. You can't even have the proper border of France, Belgium and Netherlands. East Prussia province is too big etc. There's not even a proper Rhineland province following the Rhine river. I can understand that sometimes you'd want to combine provinces, but the examples I just mentioned are just off for no reason. Lay off the booze CA when drawing provincial borders and/or read historical maps!

Well, I can almost say for sure that NTW will be the best TW for Historical accuracy, and graphics, and has the more units then any other TW game, ohh, and the most campaigns in a single TW game (Kingdoms doesn't count, 4 seperate mini-games, one campaign each), and the most extra features with the uniform editior and battle map loading screens, the most MP features and most Steam achievements, and MOST FRIECKEN EDITIONS of one game. All we need to see is how the AI and gameplay will end up!
