RTR gold is for RTW 1.3.
Since you have RTW 1.5, you have to download RTR platinum; it is the same, but adapted to RTW 1.5.

I'd suggest the mod-switcher, it is compatible to Rome total war: BI Gold (which i have) and you don't have to worry about files getting overwritten. Watch out when downloading RTR cause some versions can overwrite your files. Make a system-recoverypoint before you install it i recommend. Alway's do this when you're planning to install a mod.

Note that when you get RTRPE, you may have issues with the music. Therefore, I reccomend you get Marcus Camillus' music mod. It adds music to RTRPE, and not just the regular game soundtracks, but also an excellent score of scores composed by a real composer, and I believe, played by a real orchestra!

Or if you like the music of vanilla the most this is what you have to do.
1- Go to the rtw map/data
2- Search for the descr_sounds_music.txt file and copy it into the RTRPE/data map
Thats all, now you should be able to hear the same music as vanilla rtw.

If you install the music files which are availlable to download as Aulus Cornelius Lepidus said, the descr_sounds_music.txt file will be overwritten. If you want the vanilla music back again you just have to do the 2 steps which a told you about again.

RTR 6 Gold is for RTW v1.2 and normally RTW Gold comes with RTW fully patched to the lates, v1.5 version. Especially if you have the DVD version of RTW Gold you won`t be able to downgrade it. You should try RTRPE(RTR Platinum Edition) instead. It`s basically a port of RTR 6 Gold to the engine of RTW v1.5 which you probably have.
