    Default Sora No Oto

Started early this Month in Japan and for me even after seeing just two episodes I have to claim it just per brilliance. It's beautiful and for a series based around War it's very relaxing to watch.

After over a generations of war and a massive reduction in the human population direclty related to the war itself. A short time of peace has come, both sides of the war saw it was destroying them, seeing cities once massive reduced to former shadows of themselves because of the youth sent to war whom never returned. The Ocean is almost void of any major life as nations of the world used it as a fast source to feed their population and armies during a time where man power was dwindling. Despite being based in the Future at least from what I've read, I find it very odd that it almost seems like it's the 1930s, maybe Mediterianian? Not sure I don't live there. The only really advanced technology I saw was a tank which is broken a part in side a fort which the main character gets stationed.

The main character is a 15 year old Girl who signed up in the army to become a bugler. Ironically she was sent to a villiage pretty much far from no mans land where neither army who decided to stop fighting wishes to pull out their military might. So youths and undesirables are left behind to watch over the home front. Young Sorami is sent to an outpost where a so called "Pink" Platoon (all women platoon) is stationed, poorly manned including Sorami the Platoon consist of the Minimial number required for a military unit. (5 they say) most are under age, and their Captain isn't exactly soldierly. Can easily understand why they are not front line troops.

From the two episode's I've watched it's absolutely beautiful. Eye candy in short. It's very relaxing to watch, the main character can be quite funny at times, in a suddle way. Both episodes felt like they went very quickly, not much went on but I guess thats the beauty of it. It's more of whats going on around the characters at times than about the character's themselves.

Part 1 of the First Episode. The opening credits are quite nice, they tell story in the credits, not common in Japanese animation which they normally make a quick look better than the TV show animated scene with J Pop music in the back ground. 2nd Episode the Credits tell more story and recant on some of the first episode. I do hope the 3rd continues this classy trend.
