    Default new portraits?

I see some really amazing work in the current version and especially in the upcoming version, but I do see in previews that the portraits dont change.

Perhaps more could be added, or they could be improved with better portraits?

Maybe the Roman portraits could be altered so that there is more consistency in uniform colors?

Perhaps the Greek portraits could be expanded by making the helmets many generals of these portraits wear a different color and perhaps sometimes adding a pattern as well?

Barbarian portraits could also be increased in the same way perhaps, with some different colors. The odd purple paint often seen could perhaps completely be replaced with a different color like blue or black.

I think it has been said that the team will add new generals portraits to the game.

We've never had anyone who could redo all the portraits, and to be honest, I don't think they are that bad or require replacing as much as many of the other graphical aspects of RTW we have worked on. This was an area that would've been 'nice'.....but so minor that we never had much time to focus on it, and there are hundreds and hundreds of them. I guess you have to 'pick your battles'.

Its true that the portraits are quite alright, especially compared to newer total war games, but many of rome total war do look a bit similar, some small improvements here and there could do a lot, like changing colors here and there.

Would be nice to see greek generals with a helmet that does not look so simple in design. A pattern on it, a crest and maybe a gold, silver or other grand looking metal could be used instead.

I wouldnt say that the portraits would need to be replaced by new ones, but maybe some could be touched up, or perhaps the touched up versions could be added to the existing pool for more variety.

A simple change of cloth colors could also add more variety.

yet many look very similar. More than half the barbarian portraits are of a purple painted man with a mustace and red or blonde short wild hair.

You know, if you want, you can do new one, or touch up old portraits. We would gladly put them in.

@Inhuman One. Neither do I, but perhaps a kind soul would help creating some new images. But still they need to be good enough to replace the ones already in the game

I wouldnt mind carefully trying to modify some clothing colors or such myself with photoshop or such if I knew how to find it, and I am affraid it might mess up my game, causing it to crash or such if I am not carefull.

I have PM'd a guy who just joined RSF about it. Unfortunately he is offline at the moment. He already made us a logo (see it here) and I saw his other work and its very impressive, just need to find out if he has time to do it.

If we can provide you with the portraits, would you be able to change them?

If I knew where to put the portraits I could make some variants with different colors yes. I gues they could be edited with photoshop? or paint, I am not sure if I have photoshop.

Open the UI_0.pak and UI_1.pak with the pak extractor, and then you can probably put the UI folder that you extracted into the Data folder.
The portraits and cards are in the UI folder.

I wouldnt know what a pak extractor is and how to use it, and I wouldnt want to extract that stuff so appearantly it ends there for me.

If you just had to edit portraits, without having to worry about anything else, would you able to do it?
