Easiest\Best Faction You have Played!

Welcome to hell, uh oops, I mean my Second Thread!

Essentially in this thread You will vote on the poll (for those that have less then 25 post, I warn you that you will sadly not be able to vote) and then comment on why you think that the Faction you chose was\is the best, I am making this because I am reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally tired of seeing threads like "Whats a good Begginer Faction" or "OMG (insert faction name) is too hard!".....
While Im not Jesus and therefore cant fix this I can at least try, by the way feel free to debate the factions units too, as they sort of judge who suks and who does not!

My Selection for best Faction:
Byzantine Empire: They have the Varangian Guard, Guard Archers, Kataphractoi, and Vardariotai, not to mention their Byzantine Infantry. Each of the Units Listed above is in the Top 10 of its unit type, and the Guard Archers specifically may be the best Archer in the game besides Sherwood Archers and the Dvor....

France has a well balanced unit roster, I just hate where they are located (between HRE and Spain)

One front, trade hub, natural fortress = Scandinavia is unbreakable.
To add to that, you have the most powerful navy in the Northern seas, meaning you can easily defend from naval invasions. The only hot spot for you is Hamburg, and if you're smart enough you can easily manipulate your enemies to help you fight your other enemies. Denmark is a walk in the park.

England, because once scotland's out of the way you've got your fortress and you're free to pillage whoever you want, plus the AI has no idea how to deal with you. You have everything you need to win at fortress level, as yeoman archers, armoured swordsmen and feudal knights will rape most other fortress level units. If i had to pick another, it would be denmark, awesome infantry and decent cav, archers not the best but capable enough, once you've turned hamburg into a DOOM FORTRESS!!!!! you're pretty much set to kill anyone who approaches

The best faction is Spain, incredible units late game, easiest is England.

in my AAR the Portuguese control a third of Europe and its only 20 turns in

i voted denmark, they got great economy, their homelands are easily defendable since theres only one way in (in vanilla, its like the AI dosent realize boats can carry people half the time)and THEY'RE VIKINGS! (pretty much) i really like their units, i find that the main european armies have really generic armies in the early game. I recall them having lots of axe units which are supposed to be good against armor (although i havent played in a while) Also denmark is in position to attack russia, take briton, or go take rebel provinces on the coast. Any one of those could get you loaded quick.

I choose England, Have to be one of the best factions early game. Wipe out Scotland and your economy will grow faster than other factions. Once you take France or sail to the Iberian Pennisula, you are completely unable to be taken (except by Mongols and Timurids)

If you are beaten off the Mainland, you dont need to worry about invasion forces (except from Portugal, but those are weak armies heading for Wales region). You get close to the best if not the best archers in the game and your infantry is solid.

England is a force to be reckoned with. The only time you will struggle is when you get to Milan, HRE, and Venice; they just dont know when to give up and Venice and Milan keeps spamming Crossbows. I typically only need 2-3 stacks to handle Milan and Sicily. I can hold up to 6-8 stacks with England after taking French territory, depending how trade is going and If i am at war with everyone around me. I expand fast around turn 15 when I am England, fully taking Scotland in 9 turns and France by the 25th turn

Compared to 3 stacks with Eygpt after taking ALL of the holy lands. Their upkeep is soo high as England has one of the best units upkeep *hint* Armoured Swordsmen

Thats my summary of why England is the best, they just cant be beaten by AI (unless Scotland took super pills lol)

You are forgetting the Latinkon and Dismounted Latinkon. Mounted have the almost unseen Charge Bonus of Eight. Kataphractoi, although cool, only have a bonus of 6.

Dismounted Latinkon rival the European Dismounted Feudal Knights. Not to mention Byzantine Infantry. But I agree with you. They simply kick ass.

I'd say Denmark (vanilla). They can dominate easily their "northern meditteraean sea" and money is not a problem. And only one or two enemies at a time. And i like their infantry based unit roster. And they are closest to Finland

england. Once youve got all of Britain, you can pretty much do what you want. And youre in an excellent position to colonise the new world when its discovered.

Expanding into France can be easy: the trick is to attack when the Spanish, Portugeese, Germans, and Milanese are all attacking France. Then You can more or less walk in through the back door.

Once youve got Britain, France and some other territoires (I strongly recommend capturing the Mediteranean islands) then you start making heaps of money and the game is a lot of fun.

Plus in battle you get great heavy infantry and cavalry, just like all European nations, but also the longbowmen, who are simply AMAZING at shooting people. 6 units of yeomen longbowmen can kill 50%+ of an army before they reach you for melee. Also their ability to plant stakes, therfore deny whole areas of the battle feild to cavalry, and their decent at melle to.

Battles can get to easy and then boring with too good archers. But they do come handy fighting Timurs and Mongols. And with England you need to keep an army in isle because portugals attack there and so it might get expencive.

I go for Egypt, very strong economy is everything .. The moorish are no match and the Turks in early game neither ..

Their location is perfect to expand to Greek ..

They don't have the best units in game but when they have masses of money they can make double as big armies and oversize the enemy

The only **** thing is when you get mongol invasion but at that time you should have an Empire big enough and your defences made up ..

Altough it's not my favorite faction I have to say this one has the most possibilities.
