I am legend suck!

i just saw the movie for the first time... i rented it (DVD) under the pressure of my 28 years old idiotic cousin, that hinted me i am legend labelling it as "a great experience, with more suspense than the night of the living dead 1968's movie" [literal]...

The movie suck totally, and especially the plot.

Plot (at least what i understood ): a virus killed 5 billions people in the world, while 500 millions are immune and the remaining ones turned into a sort of spiderman-like zombies. Will Smith and the dog are the two survivors in NyC. During the day they hunt along the fifth avenue while in the night they live in a bunker. This happens for 3 hours in the movie. And in the 4th hour the dog dies i dont remember how.. amen, Will SMith after earthed the dog in a park, tries his own suicide making the kamikaze against 300,000 zombies somewhere in the big apple. Close to death WS is saved by a milf and his baby. Once back home Willy understands the woman's a fanatic insane of jesus christ while smith's an atheist and Christ said the woman that there's a safe place somewhere in Wisconsin. But Smith not only denies there is no wisconsin in america but also claims that jesus is a fake created by mao tze tung. Zombies discovered the position of will's house i dont know how and once entered the building, they started to destroy every furniture in a radius of 200m. the human survivors then goes to the secret lab in the cellar and the plexyglass at the entrance cannot resist against the strenght of doped zombies legions. Will S. notices that the human guinea pig on a bed is turning into a labrador retriever (big oooooh here ) and decides to take a sample of the blood, to be taken somewhere else safe, as the final cure for the humans. Will smith then saves the milf and kid suiciding against a zombie with a banger. Finale scene' the woman reaches Missouri where, in front of the mordor-like gate, someone scanned her genitalia with a Pentium 2, looking for some human-alien hybrid fetus she could have, as Sigourney in Alien III


Not forgetting the zombie-infected style that is pure crap. Im a fan of Romero's and for me the dead just walk slowly!

Well, it is quite a boring film I agree...

The book is soooooo much better.
I think the movie would be better if the only thing he said was "I am legend," just before he's executed, and just have the entire movie without words. But that'd be hard to get funding for.

I thought Will Smith was quite good, but someone like Daniel Day-Lewis would have rocked the S out of that movie. jUST saying.

I was told the movie was horrible by some friends who sometimes have the same taste in movies as I.

Thought it was a pretty decently good movie. Not great or mind blowing. But easily a decent horror/action/suspense ish movie.

I liked Will Smiths Char. and his interaction with the dog.

Kind of went down hill after the dog died in my eyes but still a decent ending.

The lady who found him and the boy part was meh,would have liked if they did something else with that but o well.

Still a pretty good movie though.

Well, the movie was great, some people hate it, some love it, i give it a decent B nothing more however, just the ending was something Hollywood or some guy who just wanted a dramatic heroic last stand kind of scene. Blow your self up with a grenade and killing the infected. Great just Great. Why not just toss the grenade and escape i will never know.

The original ending was more sincere and showed the infected weren't just some crazy inhuman monsters who have no heart.

Alternate ending

The tone of the film's ending was altered before the film's release, especially the stand-off between Neville and the infected in his laboratory. Visual effects supervisor Janek Sirrs recounts the original ending starting with the stand-off: "At that point, Neville's - and the audience's - assumptions about the nature of these creatures are shown to be incorrect. We see that they have actually retained some of their humanity. There is a very important moment between the alpha male and Neville. The alpha male slapped his hand on the glass and smeared it revealing a butterfly shaped imprint." Neville realizes that the alpha male is identifying the infected woman he was experimenting on by a butterfly tattoo, and that the alpha male wants her back. Demonstrating that he will cease fighting and return her, Neville is allowed to approach them, with the alpha male ordering the infected not to touch him. Neville brings the alpha female back to consciousness, still infected due to him having removed the cure, and the alpha male embraces her; Travis Schaub stated, "Then, when Neville finally turns the alpha female over to the alpha male, there is this little love moment between the two of them." Neville and the alpha male then exchange stares; Neville apologizes to them, which the alpha male acknowledges before the infected leave. He then looks at the photos of the infected he has experimented on and killed, and he realizes that he is the monster of their legends: the infected think of him as someone who hunts down and kills their people. The original final shot follows Neville, Anna, and Ethan as they cross the remnants of the George Washington Bridge in the hope of finding other survivors, accompanied by a recording from Anna telling possible survivors that there is hope, and Neville knows the compounds of the cure, meaning he can recreate it and help humanity survive and rebuild, thus establishing his legend.[5]

this is what the book was about, and the first movie (not omega man with charlton heston, the last man alive or something) and it pissed me off they left it out.

The dog has more acting skills than Smith for sure. The death sequence of Sam (the dog) was epic and realistic!

That is honestly the most heart warming scene, i'm pretty sure most of us would cry if we had to kill someone we've cared about, be it a human or pet, before it becomes infected and tries to kill you.

Sure, but there's to say that Smith facial expression worth the one of Nicholas Cage.

What the hell you on about? Will Smith is the only reason the movie was half way decent.

Smith did a good job of keeping the movie somewhat light hearted with his humor.It was a good blend of suspense and abit of comedy.

I wish more movies were like that. It just doesn't have to be 1 thing hitting you over the head over and over again throughout the whole movie.

There's one thing I never understood in that movie. Who moved the mannequin out of the store and into the streets? and who made the trap that Will got caught in?

He could've been so paranoid or lost in his head, being all alone, that he probably forgot. That or the infected moved it and set a trap, though its highly doubtful and he probably just forgot about the trap that he built

In the book there's a good twist where some of the infected can control their aggression and be almost normal, but there's this day-walker and a dog that kidnaps them while they sleep (he can't tell the difference between the good one and the bad ones). So he's the terrifying monster in the end that gets put on trial and then executed. Sorta sounds cheesy when I say it like that, but in a book: It's great.
