Lances!!!
It is just an idea of mine.
When cavarly that was having a primary weapon a spear or a lance always caried a second weapon that was either a sword or a mace or an axe.
This is why after the first charge the lance most of the times used to break.
My idea is that to create a submod that will not allow the cavarly to charge again with lances.
This will only be available for one or even two times.
Also another good realistic idea would be that after the first charge some horsemen can still have their lances due to the fact that their lances didn't broke
To sum up it would be nice and realistic to see a unit of horsemen having both swords and lances together while they charge.

That idea has been suggested many times previously and no-one has yet to find a way to make it work sadly

And btw, the squires took some extra lances with them, and medieval warriors often went to their tents if it was possible during battle for new equipment and fot health reasons

What I know, an knight never go at battle with a horse and 1 lance. He got 2-3 horses, 2-3 squires and after a devastate charges he come back to lines. None was mad enough, being a duke or baron to let him be killed by a peasent. Of course was exceptions. More apropiate, after a knight fall from horse, ussualy get up, take his sword or mace and make the blind militia to run like mad. Of course I am exagerating, but I will like to see lances broke, horse breake and fall, knights go on foot to fight after that and things like that. I imagine we need to wait 10 years before see this. Lets thank the lord we play SS with RR-RC and not the vanilla game.

This is one reason that charge distance for couched lance cavalry in RC is 45m, it simulates the need for the knight to return to his squire and get another lance. Note that the charge distance for non-couched lance is 30m, and sword/mace only cavalry is 20m, giving them greater tactical flexibility because they can pull off charges from closer to their targets.
