Torchwood

This show is on netflix and i've been thinking of watching it. Good/bad? My dad was really into Dr. Who years ago but I havn't really seen that series, do I need to watch that to like this?

It stands well on its own but very similar in style as Doctor Who. They mention the Doctor and there are some episodes that have Doctor Who characters and villains, but they do a good job with making the audience know who they are. I enjoyed it and I thought the show made some very bold choices not many other shows would. Also, Children of Men got very high ratings. I hope high enough to bring the series back. But, if not, it was a good finale.

Not wanting to spoil it but there isn't much room for another series without a MAJOR revamp!

I might have to start watching Dr. Who as well, only have seen a few episodes of some 70s version of that show.

Start with the new dr who, started around 05'ish forgot which season, but its generally good, and of course the sexy cute female human companions Really some good and scary episodes.

I liked Torchwood watched every single episode on TV the only thing I didn't like was when Captain Jack kissed guys on it, nothing against that sort of thing, just a bit I had to turn away lol. There was one episode that I loved, can't remember what it was called, but they are like trapped in a village full of cannibals and man that really had my heart pounding that episode

The Cannibals one was like a Horror movie. As I said, they made some very interesting choices in that show that really set it apart from most scifi or any other genre for that matter. I mean, there was one whole season where from the beginning to end you were constantly being surprised by their choices.

As for continuing on, yeah, Children of Men capped the series off quite well and it would be difficult to and probably take a complete season or another mini-series just to set the show back up again.

I am soooo angry at BBC America by the way. My GF accidentally taped over the final two parter of the change over of the Doctors. So, I set the DVR to record it this past weekend, it was supposed to be on from 5pm to 7pm. Instead, they decide to spend the entire day playing Psycho, over and over and over and over. Damn you BBCA!!!!!! So, short story long, still waiting to see it.
