    Default Confused with military points

    My friends,

Perhaps someone can tell me what the XXXX i'm doing wrong here. Each and every campaign I start , I tend to end up 0 military points after a while, unable to get it maxxed.

Current campaign I have 2 castles,5 cities and 3 knights bannerets. I would think those 3 knights would generate enough military points to support castle growth. Got a very positive bank account (+100k) ,but somehow , my calculation is wrong. So perhaps i'm doing it wrong , so here are a few questions:

1.For each rank my military governor gets , I earn military points/each turn?
2.For each military building / armoury i need to pay military points? Even when they are built in cities?
3.Why would I run out of military points when I have 2 castles and 3 knights banneret?

In short , how do you manage your empire?

    Mil points:

    Kill pirates. Kill rebels.

    Do missions!

    Get heroic victories!

Send a ton of generals on crusade!

When first knight banneret appears leave him in a settlement, this is how to get him to generate points. You've probably got at least 20 points by now anyway, so in 80 turns you've maxed mil points and can forget all about it.

Personally I don't like incentives to leave a general in a settlement. Especially as I am relying on generals stationed outside forts and settlements to provide assistance to allies should they request it. Afterall if we don't play to use this feature then we'll likely never see it.

Oh and yes, don't build a fortress untill you have at least 2 knight bannerets. Let the AI have the advantage, having to give away a fortress because your knight banneret dies is very annoying...

So , Taiji , are you telling me , that in order for a knight banneret for example to receive points he has to be IN a castle , and not on a campaign?

I got an answer to my most important question. Still there remains one question that hasn't been answered:

2.For each military building / armoury i need to pay military points? Even when they are built in cities?

You don't pay any military points for any building, that includes any armory. Only fortress' and Citedal's.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

Thank you Taiji and Sivilombudsmannen for enlightening me (+rep)

Unfortunately , another question came up : Do kings/heirs generate points?
